columbia here. A/C just stays on 24/7 in the house. i grew up in NC which is also fairly brutal during summertime, but this place takes the cake. been giving my 5x7 garden like 15-20 gallons of water per day and my tomato plants have still just been steadily hating their lives. fairly low production on them, only been able to make spaghetti sauce a couple times, salsa once. had a few fried green tomatoes and given a few ripe ones away to family. some of that low production could be due to overfertilizing with nitrogen before they got their first blooms. jalapenos are starting to come in in bigger numbers now tho.
been going bass fishing down where the saluda/broad/congaree come together, it's refreshing to wade out and hook into some stripers and smallmouth- they're a lot feistier than largemouths. idk if you do any saltwater fishing but i've never explored myrtle beach area- would def like to link up if you got some good spots
