If you order a coke from mcd without ice, you are not being frugal.

You're a poker player who is both stubborn and miserable, so you may want to check yourself. Addiction isn't really about the substance, and yes it's a lot better to focus the disease on something like exercise opposed to something like crack, but lol you and your high horse. Drugs can be sweet.

Poppunk,

The only thing that Olive Garden excels at is their unlimited portions, including breadsticks. The sauce is not much better than stewed tomatoes but I get that it’s yummy to you. I think this is because you’ve never had authentic homemade sauce...which I’m making later today, and oh how I wish I could feed you.

There’s takeout Chinese on every corner where I live...most options are deep fried and all options are delish, in my opinion.

Authentic Mandarins wouldn’t eat the shiat on a bet because they know what real Chinese food should taste like.

Restaurant meals have tons of fat and sugar added them to make them more appealing to Lol USA#1.

I’ve had Olive Garden sauce. Meh. IMO all tomatoes and not much flavor. My sauce is so good it would make you cry.

Have you ever had a homemade spaghetti sauce that’s been simmering for 6 hours with about 25 different ingredients in it?

It was just a general disagreement with the first statement. The rest was fine description if he wasn't trying to make a funny.

Judgmental a tiny bit?

And I don't use and rarely drink. But I am pro-drugs and pro- everyone should do whatever he/she wants to do with their body. And there are many many many super interesting people here, who either used in the past or do it now.

Tuma has wrote once I think in "high" thread a great post on drugs, what do they do with your brain and how they can help really improve your life.

Open your mind!

It contributes nothing, it’s incorrect and it doesn’t present a better way to do something. You just made an off hand comment that sounds sort of witty and snarky but actually is false.

An alcoholic is someone with an addictive disease. Someone who is bad with money could be uneducated with finances (most common issue), has been miseducated, has poor impulse control (is not an addiction or disease) and in some cases, fairly rare, they may have a shopping, buying addiction which may be the one example that relates to your quote.

There are lots of ways to improve with money that start with “stop spending on things that aren’t vital” whereas walking up to an alcoholic and declaring their problem would go away if they simply “stop drinking” would not work the same way.

I’m starting to believe that you don’t understand these differences because you’re not a very intelligent human being.
Um. I am starting to think you are the dense one. Did you see the post I quoted? The guy literally told him to "spend less, it's that simple!" I responded by saying, "yeah, but that's like telling an alcoholic not to drink." Soo...what you wrote is in complete agreement with what I wrote! lol, ffs

He offered no help at all. Going up to an alcoholic and telling him to stop drinking also offers no help, get it?

Was not for me. Almost every self-help-ish book I've ever picked up as been awful ... pages and pages and pages of examples of Jim and Sally and Juan's awful financial decisions ...

both offer little help!

you should skip to the part where they give you their plan to change. it's pretty helpful.

Chicken nuggets might be the worst possible example to make that point. I rarely cook, but I can make chicken nuggets in about 15 minutes that are miles better than that pink slime garbage from McDs.

As far as sauces are concerned of course a decent to above average cook can create something better than olive garden. Are most people that? Nope. Olive garden in particular gets a lot of unwarranted hate imo. It certainly isn't gourmet cuisine, but like you said for the money you might need to spend on all the ingredients to make homemade sauce, chicken, sides, etc...you probably are better off going there unless it's a large group you are cooking for.

Also, you know exactly what is going in your food at home, which is nice.
The only chef in the thread agrees with the guy with the low post count/unorthodox internet opinion. I've never had a bad meal at Olive Garden myself.

honestly I thought u were trying to be snarky/funny. It obviously is useless to tell someone who is spending too much to stop spending so much. Just like it's useless to tell someone who drinks too much to stop drinking so much. I have no clue where this hate of my post is coming from.

I’m hardly an apologist for alcoholics but that type of reading comprehension explains some of your issues in the online dating thread. I responded to preki comparing peoples spending irresponsibility to an alcoholic. Again try reading the thread inline and then processing what was said before stating opinions about others positions
I never said overspending is like being an alcoholic. I've had drinking problems myself. So I am sensitive to it, I self medicate due to my mental illness.

There is something similar in telling someone who spends too much to simply stop spending and telling someone who drinks too much to simply stop drinking, don't you think? Maybe you aren't too bright.

Obviously you don't know 27 very well.
