I meant to chime in on this thread a while ago and forgot.

My wife and I are sort of in the "lifestyle." I say sort of because we haven't yet "full swapped," but that's definitely going to happen. We started entertaining the idea about a year ago, and went to our first club 9 months ago. I've been to 2 different swingers clubs, one of them multiple times. I would say the demographics of the clubs are typical of any other bar or club. You're obviously going to have people who aren't very physically attractive as the vast majority of the general population isn't attractive.

We got into it by my wife's suggestion (one thing you'll notice if you ever meet swingers: the women are the ones making the decisions of who to play with.) The vast majority of female swingers are bisexual, and female/female play is generally how the ice is broken. The vast majority of male swingers are straight.

The main thing about swingers, is they are almost universally "normal" people, they are just honest with themselves about their own sexuality. The first time we went to a club we were very hesitant, but from the moment we walked in, everybody was extremely nice and not pushy. We made a deal with ourselves that we weren't going to play on our first visit to the club, (we didn't) and I think this was a good decision for us, as it was completely no-pressure while we got used to the whole atmosphere/idea. We still have a no play on the first date rule when we're meeting with other couples two-on-two to make sure my wife and I are on the same page about them. There are definitely people who are into the wham-bam style of swinging, but most we've met do have a genuine interest in being friends, and we've met some great people through our experiences. Overall, its been great for our sex life, and is really just an exciting way to live.

How exactly do you even find a swingers club much less get into one. I feel like there's this whole sub-culture I'm unaware of.

I know that in my area the clubs are completely a word of mouth thing. You will not know where it is unless you know someone in there.

My first knowledge of them was via the news. There was a court case involving the club that I would eventually end up going to. My first trip though was because of a friend of a friend's b-day party that was there. Since then two new clubs in the area have opened and they made the local news when they opened.

If you google it isn't hard to find. Even if you go to the general Club Listings type website you'll find they have a listing on there. It won't say swinger's club or on-site but something like adult themed. The clubs I know of all have websites so that is another way to find them. Also something like Sexopalozza which is basically a convention for adult stores, clubs, adult travel ect that goes from city to city. Also likely you'll find flyers for local clubs at adult stores.

As for how you get a membership you can just go to the common area and then talk to the person who controls entry to the on-site area. Sometimes you can just be approved on the spot. Otherwise you fill out the application and submit photos. You want to go to places that have strict membership rules to avoid the experience of having a bunch of fuglie people naked which is just gross.

One other thing, a lot of clubs don't allow single men to enter. One club that I go to does, the other doesn't. I think it might actually be harder for a single male to get laid at a swinger's club then a vanilla club, unless you look like Brad Pitt or have a 12" dick.

That is pretty standard. This is the first I've heard of a club that doesn't have the must have at least one girl for every guy rule.

How did you guys first get into the swinging lifestyle?

Was it your idea or spouse's? How did they react?

What's the ages that goes to these clubs? Youngest to oldest? Do you see a mixed age group - 20's to 50's?

I don't swing. A lot of people who go to these don't.

Not married. It depends on the girl but generally most girls seem into it. The big concern is about other people finding out and also fears that it will be full of fat creepy old men.

The vast majority is under 30. Some 30-40. A few 40+ but generally just guys. The women tend to be mostly in their 20s. I'm not sure if you can see pics in a ImageShack account by following a link but there are 12-14 pics in the account I linked to that will give you a general idea.
