We moved last summer from Northern Virginia.

Since last night the snow has been very light, and while constant, not really amounting to much. So we're going to end up with about 18 inches. I understand this happens about every four years or so here - we live in the central mountains. Three or four previous snows this winter have been only 3 to 5 inches, not enough to slow anything down (except for all the old people driving around going 10 mph on a clear road).

Yup. O neg. Very annoying that as a universal donor I am no longer allowed to give blood, due to having lived in England during the mad cow scare. Sillies disqualifier I am aware of.

No idea. Of course, with the exception of an emergency room visit after a motorcycle accident, I have not seen a doctor in almost 30 years.

Now that I have crossed my 50th year, I suspect that will need to change. I should go find out how ****ed I am.

Of the dozen or so times I have encountered a person begging for money, I have always offered to buy them something to eat. Only two have accepted. One laughed loudly.

One of those times, I was in one of those small Mexican joints where the food is cheap but decent. I told the guy I’d buy him whatever he wanted to eat. I told the counter lady to take his order and I’d pay. He ordered for what seemed like 5 solid minutes. He got $45 worth of food. He kept looking at me out of the corner of his eye expecting me to stop him but I couldn’t. What the hell was I supposed to do? He said he had hungry friends.

If I get accosted by a panhandler their odds of getting something from me go way up if they’re honest. Don’t give me some bs story about needing bus fare when you hanging around the liquor store.
