I haven’t written about Dunkin in ages but here we are again.
Cliffs: I run on Dunkin but have reduced my intake to 2 coffees per day. One of which I get at their fabulous flagship store in Boston. I go there every day and my order is made before I even order it! This guy is amazing. As soon as he sees me he gets my espresso going. Obviously I tip him.
And....he usually gives me something free. Baked goods, which I bring back to the office, or a free espresso shot.
He couldn’t be nicer nor could the service be better. I walked there last week during the snow storm, forgot to bring money, and he just waved me away. Next time I went in I gave him $5.
Okay now to today. I walk in and he gets the espresso machine going. Makes my coffee which should cost about $4.50 but it came to $1.09; the price of an espresso shot only.
So I said something and he was like “yeah don’t worry, I know your order.” And gave me my perfectly made coffee.
Ugh, so I gave him the $5 bill and told him to keep the change.
But I don’t want to do that every day! I don’t mind sticking it to the man, and I’d rather give my money to this awesome worker than the corporation IN THEORY.
In reality I don’t know what the **** to do if this happens again tomorrow. Help me!
Keep in mind, I want to keep going there every day, love the store and the service.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
