It took me three or four times to get past midway in the first book, but after that they aren't bad at all.

One of the few movie/book series where I enjoyed both incarnations of the story. Usually I'm horribly disappointed in the movie.

I think I have a simple mind when it comes to movies. Bourne was cool I guess but I don't remember a damn thing that happened in those movies, and I remember spacing out a lot when there wasn't action going on. Also I'm currently on my 2nd time through LotR because on the first time through, I got lost somewhere in the 1st one so I was confused about a lot after that point.

On the flip side, I think I was too old when I finally watched Indiana Jones to appreciate it.

Anyways, I grew up on Back to the Future and have probably watched it the most out of any movie ever so there's no way I wasn't voting for that.

Of the past couple of decades its Bourne for me just due to re-watchability.
Lord of Rings is close second due to epic scale and story.

BB and DKR doesn't do much other than being solid comic book flicks, TDK ****ing killed it due to Joker/Ledger.
Matrix 2 and 3 were ****ing terrible

Obv Indiana and Star Wars are tops all time.

Yeah the Bourne series was extremely solid. When I heard they were coming out with a new one I was pretty pumped. When I heard it wasnt Matt Damon I was pretty bummed

How is LOTR winning? 2 & 3 sucked. OOt has truly lost its way.

Where is Terminator, 1 & 2 are so good that the suckfest of 3 cant drag it down to some of these movies. Meh......

The 3rd one is a prequel.

Toy Story clubhouse leader with TDKR still to be seen.

Can obviously see arguments for Star Wars, LoTR- just not a huge fantasy/sci-fi fan.

Dont think Indiana Jones, Bourne, Back to the Future are on the same level as the others.

my rankings (individual parts ranked in parenthesis):

1. Star Wars (2, 1, 3)
2. Indiana Jones (3, 1, 2)
3. LotR (1, 2, 3)
4. The Dark Knight (1, 3, 2)
5. Bourne Trilogy (3, 1, 2)
6. Toy Story (1, 3, 2)
7. Back to the Future (1, 2, 3)

Toy Story 1 resonates a lot with me. I liked 2 and 3 but didn't really care about them.
Back to the Future 1 is amazing but 2 and 3 are awful.

Empire Strikes Back and A New Hope are my two favorite movies.

I would have picked LOTR but the more times I watch the movies, boredom just sets in. The initial viewing was just awesome but after about 3 rounds in the dvd player, I just have no desire to watch these movies anymore, even when they are on tv non-stop.

Star Wars would have got my vote 15 years ago.

Temple of Doom was so bad, even with Short round there to try to save it.

I went with Batman bc, at least for me, every time I watch one of the movies, it seems like there is something new that was not there the last time I saw it.

I think LOTR is excellent but as microcuts mentioned, I have no real desire to watch it anymore (have seen each one about 3-4 times). I too did the extended-cut marathon viewing with some friends in high school. Awesome but draining.

Toy Story trilogy is excellent and IMO most people who say otherwise are just being insecure about it "being for kids". There's plenty there for older viewers and all three are very well made. But I've only seen the first one more than once and don't necessarily want to watch them again.

Bourne trilogy isn't the best from a cinematic POV but they're all enjoyable to watch. These are probably the movies I'm most likely to watch again.

I just feel like I'm too young to really "get" Star Wars and Indiana Jones just because they came out in theaters before I was born (excepting the third Indiana Jones but I was only 3). I enjoyed both trilogies (my dad got me into them), especially Star Wars, but the magic just isn't there for me. Every time I see an Indiana Jones movie on TV, though, I always end up watching it for a while.

Haven't seen TDKR yet, so I'll withhold my judgment on the trilogy. I enjoyed BB but don't really want to watch it again. I thought TDK was phenomenal, have seen it twice, and want to see it again.

Haven't seen BTTF 2 or 3. Perhaps I should do that...

Because part 2 was OK and part 3 was ****.

To make a great trilogy you need 3 great parts.

Personally I chose Bourne because every film is near perfect.

LOTR, Nolan's Batman and Star Wars trilogy come a VERY close equal second.

LOTR Return of the King is only a 7/10 imo. Too much messing with the book. So that lowers overall score.

Star Wars and Return of the Jedi score a 9/10.

The Dark Knight Rises is probably a 8/10 based on 1 viewing.

Bourne 30/30

LOTR 27/30

Star Wars 28/30

Dark Knight 28/30
