this is the louis SNL set that has generated a ton of controversy (from idiots) today:

For the longest time I was like, "I wonder what they had to complain about in this." In the end, I got my answer.

Obviously still idiotic to create controversy for that, but without reading the news, I know what joke it was.

Pretty funny stuff. I don't see why it's controversial at all.

He even tried to hedge a little and pointed out how dark and absurd the bit was on more than one occasion. People just look for reasons to be mad.

ppl getting upset about that set is so depressing.
it is strange how as a species we can be so insanely intelligent (space travel, quantum mechanics etc) and so absurdly idiotic at the same time.

that was a hilarious set.

I used to do something similar about how amazing crack must be if ppl are willing to suck dick for it etc, this is obv way edgier and more brilliant.

jesus ****ing christ this is an actual headline from the Huffington Post.

Quote:
Louis C.K.'s Shocking 'SNL' Monologue Compares Child Molesting To Eating Candy Bars
I mean it's just unreal how ****ing stupid ppl are.
god it's so tilting.

and ppl are being paid for their idiocy.
someone had to approve that headline as well so it's not just one moron.

I think that article about Louis having a weird sex thing surfacing a few days before the show doesn't help

And while we're all used to Louis making jokes like that, snl is a different and wider audience. More upsetting to me is that Louis who is supposed to be one of the most well known comics in the world still gets shocked reactions from relatively tame material. I mean, his "of course, but maybe" bit basically talked about murdering children for 5 minutes

What is this weird sex thing you're speaking of?

On a lighter note, after watching Norm's video above, I watched 2 hours of the jokes portion of his podcast on YT and that has some great stuff. First time I've seen his stuff. Also, Larry King was surprisingly funny on the jokes. Didn't expect that.

Caught Amy Schumer working on her HBO special at Stand Up NY last night. The special will be filmed at the Apollo Theater, but she had a camera crew there to document this show as well. She did about 40 minutes, and it was really, really funny. I heard Chris Rock was also there watching her set but I didn't see him.

Typical of HuffPo, and that's why I stopped going to that site a long time ago.

I wonder how many believe or just clickbait the megaPC people with those things. I really don't blame them for trying to get traffic by using it since ninnies are up in arms about this.

i mean obviously it's written to shock and get clicks, but the main reason i have no issue with that headline is...it's pretty much exactly what he did. obviously it's going to get misinterpreted, and they know that, but for an actual literal description it's rather accurate.

come on yeti that's super disingenuous.

i'm being serious haha, though i understand why you would disagree.

obviously what they said isn't 100% right, it's more like 'louis ck compares and contrasts the pleasure a child molester gets from molesting to the pleasure a normal person gets from eating candy', but honestly, i really don't think it's that bad as far as these things go.

is your issue just that it's the huffington post and this is the kind of thing they do? would you care if it was on the avclub and when you clicked it the sub-headline was 'and it's hilarious'?

i'm much more ok with it than something totally wrong like 'louis ck defends child molesting', or some clickbaity bs of 'you'll never guess what louis ck said about child molesting!'

I think this is my first time ever going to huffpo site.
I was under the impression it was supposed to be a legit news site, if thats incorrect that's on me for having the wrong expectations.

Huffpo is a clickbait site nowadays, it used to be more legitimate.

Kind of reminded me of this Jim Jefferies' bit (40:44):

Obviously the stories are somewhat different but who knows.

It used to be. But really, should any legit news source cover what a comedian said on TV? Did Al Jazeera run a front page headline about it?
