Ian Edwards might be my favorite new comedian. If he comes within 2 hours of Brooklyn, I'm seeing him. He's the only comedian who's bits I'll rewatch. His Bowl Cut bit may be my all time favorite:
1) Ari Shaffir's latest special was surprisingly great and worth the $5. He's come a long way, I used to hate his standup.
2) Family visit to San Francisco this week. Never been, and one thing I wanted to do is see a show at Cobbs. Seeing Kevin Nealon Friday night. Is his standup good or anywhere near decent?
Nealon is pretty decent. Doesn't touch any of the greats but worth seeing for sure. His style is a bit unique so I'd have recommended watching a little of his stuff before paying to see him live, but I doubt you'll end up regretting it.
And I dunno if it's just me but I didn't find either of those bits from Edwards to be that great. Maybe he's just not for me.
Ive seen one Segura special on netflix and it was great, and in general I really like him. I cant remember the name of it though, is this a brand new one or has it been out for 6 months or more?
Nice to see Segura material I haven't heard yet. I've got both of his albums and his Netflix special is watched fairly often. Can't believe I never heard of this guy before his latest on Netflix.
The video i linked was just his part in a series where they have a comedian tell a crazy true story. His latest special is the one on Netflix, "Completely Normal".

any suggestions for podcasts with him?
The first few Mohr Stories had Segura and they're hilarious, but I think you need to pay to get those as iTunes only keeps a recent few. Check out The Crabfeast. He's done a few which you can still get, but the podcast in general is fantastic and now one of my favorite. Be warned about Ryan Sickler's laugh. It's annoying as ****, but I will say now I actually like it because something about it makes me feel like he's actually genuinely laughing his ass off that often. Also check out Ian Edwards episode of the Joe Rogan Experience. It's very good, but that could be my bias as Ian is similar to Bill Burr for me. I'm at a point where I could listen to those guys read the newspaper and I'd be entertained.
EDIT:
Also, Ms. Pat's podcast episodes are all awesome. Her on The Crabfeast is definitely my favorite, but she's on The Champs, Joe Rogan's, and I think Maron's. It's interesting to listen to them all, as she kinda covers the same material, but given how ****ing crazy her adolescent life was, it's fun to see how the hosts deal with it. Seriously check her out. I mean, she once got her nipple shot off by her husband when she was a teenager, and that's not even the craziest story she tells. THere's another one where she talks about meeting Jimmy Carter when she was a cashier at McDonalds. Looks like she tells it in the same show as the Segura bit I linked.

Ms. pat on ari shaffirs podcast was amazing (and ari's show referenced above "this is not happening" is excellent as well. Just comedians telling stories). One of my favorites is how she found out about the holocaust.
The latest Joe Rogan podcast with Artie Lange was one of the most worrying things I've seen in a while. Yapping about drugs with an addict on the flagrant nod (or withdrawals; whatever) seemed insensitive. "Sure, Artie, just hire a dietician, and try not to die before our all-comedian pool tournament!"
Maybe Joe would have put Artie in his float tank, if he didn't already know it would be filled with vomit and diarrhea.
awesome ty.
fwiw the Joe Rogen experience with jim jefferies was one of the best podcasts I've ever heard.
Agreed. Definitely the best Rogen podcast, too. Jeffries kept Rogen from scatterbraining as much as usual. I like Rogen, but his podcasts are way too long for my taste. Jeffries jept me entertained for 2+ hours tho.
Ms. Pat has a reputation for heckling other comics during their sets at open mics in Indianapolis. It is unbelievably disrespectful, yet still pretty damn funny.
Also check out any podcast with him as a guest. He's fantastic in that format.
All this Tom talk and no mention of Your Moms House podcast that's his with his wife Christina? Listen to the one with Ms Pat. They play my favorite game 'Tom or black'... Tom does a perfect black guy voice so they play 10 clips of either tom or a black guy. Think she got all 10 wrong. It's so funny.
