Her first album is damn solid as well. Same with Natasha Leggero's as well.

There's a far difference between a shtick and just not being funny. She's Lisa Lampanelli without the preference for black dicks.

They are nothing alike. Completely different styles.

I got a kick out of Amy Schumer when I first saw her. She was legit then, and now that her show has proven what she can do, she's beyond legit. I'd feel pretty confident saying she's the best female comic out right now who is not named Maria Bamford, easily. Unfortunately, I can barely remember too many other female comics.

it's fine if you don't think she's funny, but you were implying that people only found her funny because of she joked about sex, which i disagree with.

not that I know of (I'm assuming you've seen his great rant/set in Philly that was 100% him just railing on the crowd. if u haven't def utube burr Philly rant)
he also has a weekly podcast (Monday morning podcast) which is awesome.
as for his specials the only ones I'm aware of are

avail on utube:
Comedy Central 30min (ok nothing special)
HBO one night stand (def worth watching)
why do I do this (incredible)

avail on netflix instant (maybe utube as well)
let it go
you people are all the same (both AMAZING)

Sarah silverman as well.

I feel like we've had the same convo in a few threads about this

Sarah Silverman, absolutely.

I'd go:

Maria Bamford
Sarah Silverman
Amy Schumer
Morgan Murphy
Natasha Leggero

As the best female comics in the game.

Man I never knew that Greg Giraldo was a Columbia grad that then graduated from Harvard law. You kidding me? You can totally feel it in the final bit of this masterpiece. There are some bits in here that are timeless. My face hurt from laughing. Such a waste of talent, died way too young.

Check out Give It Up For Greg Giraldo. Sort of a memorial document on YouTube.

John Mulaney has two great specials. The older one, The Top Part, and the newer one, "New in Town" are both amazing. He is a former SNL writer and long time stand up - he wrote the Stefan character with Bill Hader.

I watched Women Who Kill on Netflix. It's Amy Schumer, Nikki Glaser, Rachel Feinstein and Marina Franklin. Schumer was great, Glaser was pretty good but Feinstein was completely awful. She does a few really dumb/bad voices and I can't believe someone like her can get on TV.

5 minute set. what do you guys think?
I think your jokes, as written, play for shock value rather than laughs. It's not necessarily bad to push the envelope, and groans from an audience can be alright in small doses, but almost every joke seemed to get that reaction. I think it'll work better if you mix in some lighter material.
