That one is older. It was right after the Burning The Bridge To Nowhere special and before Beer Hall Putsch.

Got Dave Attell's new special for $5 on Comedy Central direct or whatever their download site is.

Hit and miss, but the hits were ON. I lost it during a few of the bits, especially the one about performing for special people.

My favorite show after all these years is from 2003 when I saw Attell with Lewis Black and Mitch Hedburg as openers. Good to see 11 years later Attell can still kill.

doing a road trip over easter. any good stand-up albums?

i guess the criteria would be 'not available on video', as i'd prefer to watch. i've heard all of mitch and louis' audio stuff.

Started watching the Todd Barry Crowd Work special last night. He basically did a whole tour with no material, just talking to the crowd. Talk about incredible, and worth every penny of the $5

Saw Bill Burr last night he absolutely killed it was amazing and he wasn't just doing material you could tell he was preparing for his next special it was all kind of off-the-cuff and spur of the moment he did a great rant on Donald Sterling it was just an amazing show the guy is on another level

edit sorry for complete lack of punctuation I just discovered text to speak or speak to text whatever and it's changing my life

I didn't actually physically type a single word of this post

I saw Rogan and Joey Diaz last Friday. Both were good, but goddamn Joey Diaz lit the place on fire.

I spoke with a guy at a birthday thing last weekend and he used to work at Caroline's in Manhattan. He said Patrice O'Neal was an awesome guy, really nice to everyone and he considered them buddies.

He also said that Tracy Morgan was a complete prick and way too big for his britches. This guy I met, Matt, had to drive Morgan's car around Manhattan for 45 minutes so that it wouldn't have to be parked. He also yelled at Matt and told him to not touch the radio.

In terms of comedy I've only listened to Rogan's specials, but I listen to his podcast quite a bit, and I have to admit, while I like him a lot, I've never found him particularly funny at all.

Joey Diaz, on the other hand, is freaking hilarious and I can imagine he's great live.

I'm in a similar boat. For me, Rogan for the most part is the type of comedian who tells a joke/offers an idea/concept that you say to yourself, "that is kind of funny", but maybe just smile and not actually laugh. He had a few things that made me laugh, but from the moment Diaz walked toward the mic to the second he got off stage I was either laughing or laughing maniacally. Everything about him is funny, what he's saying, how he's saying it, the physicality he uses, just amazing.

I had just been discovering some different Bill Burr stuff and he happened to be playing in Toronto within a month of that....
Saw him live and he absolutely crushed it. Just like RBK was saying, such a huge % of the show was off the cuff material. It had the feeling like he was more or less just up there shooting the **** with everyone but he absolutely destroyed. I've more or less become addicted with his material since then, watching anything I could get my hands on. He's the best out there at the moment imo.
RBK, any hidden gems in terms of Bill Burr stuff I wouldn't be able to easily find?

She's so funny because she talks about how she has sex with a lot of guys!

um, this and much more. she has good timing, delivery and content. so she has a shtick, who doesn't? louis relies on self-hatred, daniel tosh relies on shock, and patton oswalt relies on nerd humor. every comedian has a shtick.

If you think self hatred is Louis' shtick then you are bad at watching comedy.
