one thing is for certain, Eddie Murphy is the best. and if he would still be doing stand up, the me too movement would crucify him, like they take apart and gaslight chappelle now.

So Chappelle is the best now,
and Brendan Schaub is the worst.

Might want to check out the guy Eddie says is the best and copied from.

Now that guy would be cancelled.

oh for sure they would be cancelled.
you are talking about Peter Sellers I'm assuming. I just looked up eddies wiki and it says he was influencing him. first I thought you meant Richard Pryor...

funny thing is I could never decide who is more funny. those two, Murphy and Sellers would be my 2 top picks.

The outlet spoke with a number of the cast members, but during their chat with Murphy, they wanted to know his top five favorite comedians of all time. "I don't know who the top five is, but the king is Richard Pryor," he said. "That's forever. Nobody is even half-way close. He is the ceiling of the artform. All of us aspire to be like him. Nobody even comes close...one through five. The other four don't count. It's Richard."

From his last press junket for "My name is Dolemite".

Oh so its Richard Pryor. I like the guy in movies.

Hope you are well my friend.

I came across this site when looking at cancel culture and Pryor.

That's just lazy writing or a true lack of investigation into the comedy scene.

But it's also before Dave Chappelle and Shane Gillis getting flak for their comedy.

Saying there's nothing in the comedy levee is just ignorant.

Maybe it's not your flavor, but it's not gone.

Sorry I shouldnt have posted that link, I only read half of it and that writer guy tricked me.

Here is something funny:

These idiots cant even decide if Will Smith is good or bad anymore.
Here Chris Rock gets flamed, they say he deserved the slap. Crazy world that is with too many pseude supporters.

https://www.geo.tv/latest/437236-chr...-brutal-murder

I knew from the get go that Chris Rocks joke was tasteless and he deserved a slap. Maybe not a slap he should have done something else. But man, how the f did he diss his wife in front of millions and then gets crucified.

What do you, and you guys think? Chris Rock good or a tasteless idiot?
I never liked Rock too much, Im more of a Chappelle guy.

It's surprising how badly comedy holds up 40-50 years later. Pryor is *almost* unwatchable now. Comics who really nail social commentary in particular don't hold up well.

There's no question Pryor is the guy who made Eddy, Eddy is one of the guys who made Dave. But give me Dave over both to make me laugh TODAY. Dave has also taken the genre in places I find more interesting.

Have to admit I haven't been into rock in quite a while, his movie career has turned me off on watching his standup, which is unfair, but that's what happened.

As far as the slap, I'm just shocked there wasn't any action taken immediately, unless it's a gag.

If it isn't a gag, that's a bad precedent to set.

If celebs can assault a performer on stage, it's not going to be long til some idiot hurts someone at a comedy club cause they told ****ty jokes

I'm not counting the Craig Robinson incident, I really don't know the details on that.

I was always a rock fan, until I realized his joke at the oscars wasnt funny to me and I could understand smithes outrage. I dont think it was a gag at all. Remember how will smith was cussing at him? That was def real imo. Nevertheless, you are absolutely right he shouldnt have done that. What followed were similar attacks on comics. Did you see the attack on chappelle? That happened right after.

Didn't even know it happened.

It's one thing to be offended by a comics material, but to assault them onstage is completely different

I hope this doesn't become a trend.

I'm listening to Mitch Hedberg's Strategic Grill Locations cd that I just picked up at the library. Now this is comedy.

I had to do an interlibrary loan to get his other one, Do You Believe in Gosh.
