Also watch his TV show on FXX, Legit. Most of them are extensions of his stand-up acts, but they're still good.

Didn't like Noah's delivery, but his material is great.

Don't bother buying Alexandro's old set, but his newer one is good. Weird that his old set is filmed in front of like 700 people, and his new one 30.

Supremely jealous...

my top 5 would be

1) Bill Burr
2) Louis CK
3) Jim Norton
4) Jim Jefferies
5) Norm MacDonald

Too stupid to know how to post a video link, but Jim Jefferies' "Alcoholocaust" special is back up on youtube after being off for awhile. The bit about buying a prostitute for his severely disabled friend is always a winner.

going to the 2nd annual patrice benefit on tuesday in manhattan.

"The lineup of comedians includes many of the comics from last year – Burr, Dave Attell, Robert Kelly, Jim Norton, Rich Vos, Colin Quinn, and Keith Robinson. In addition, there are some other big time comedians joining that group this year including Nick DiPaolo, Bonnie McFarlane, Big Jay Oakerson, Harris Stanton, Talent, and Dane Cook."

Why does nearly every black comedian sound like Richard Pryor?

Considering most of those shows are largely scripted its an annoying trend.

Glad to see Stewart Lee get a mention. He is an absolute twisted genius. Simon Amstell is incredibly funny and under appreciated overall. Best buzzcocks host (apart from wogan). Lastly I'd like to further recommend Dylan Moran. When he can be arsed he is amazing. Tommy tiernan was also superb but I'm not sure he is working in stand up these days.
It's painful to watch Russell Howard try to be funny, the guy has his own bbc3 show and thinks he's gods gift to comedy!

Maybe because you're a racist? Kidding, but I don't think that's true at all. To name a few not including Chris Rock, Bill Cosby, Eddie Murphy and other greats, I think Hannibal Burress, Ian Edwards, Jerrod Carmichael, Tony Rock, Eric Andre, Deon Cole, Alonzo Bodden, Baron Vaughn, Roy Wood Jr., Ron Funches, Maronzio Vance, Aisha Tyler, Godfrey, Reggie Watts, Michael Che, Dean Edwards are all distinctly their own. Maybe they have a little Pryor in them, but most comedians of note (white and black) probably have been influenced at least a little by him.

I saw this Howard guy two years in Montreal at a show in the Ste. Catherines Theater. It's a tiny venue - seats maybe 100 people. I had no clue who he was but it was him, Hannibal Burress and John Mulaney performing one after another. Howard was maybe the most vanilla comedian I saw throughout the festival that year and he was completely outclassed on this night, I mean terribly outclassed. It was until after the show that I took the time to google him and found out how famous he was overseas - sold 125,000 tickets to one of his tours, played Wembley, etc... I was astounded because there was absolutely nothing special about the guy at all.

I quoted that guy thinking it was a recent post as it was at the bottom of the page, didn't realize it was only page 1.

But still, always good to bash R Howard at any given opportunity, he's undoubtedly 1 of the most unfunny ****s to have made a name for himself in comedy, but he does toe the line well for the bbc (british bull****ting corporation).

I think my top 5 that I would like to see live (that I havent already) would be:

1. Hannibal Burress. Had tickets to see him during Snowpocalypse and he got snowed in and cancelled show. Was very sad.
2. Eugene Mirman
3. John Mulaney
4. Amy Shumer
5. Bill Burr

Totally forgot about british comedians, would add Jimmy Carr, Simon Amstell (not sure if he still does standup?) Frankie Boyle, Jon Richardson

you should really bump burr to #1.
I think he's unquestionably the funniest comedian working today.
all 3 of his specials are amazing (even after multiple viewings) and I've seen him live 2x and both times I nearly died.
also I'm assuming you've seen Jim Jeffries live or he'd be #2 on ur list.

Bill Burr is one of the few comedians whose specials I can rewatch and laugh just as hard this time as I did the first time.

His first album as well. At least I think it's his first. It was done in Philly, so that bit is in there, which is phenomenal. He was just starting to come up when that came out. Just had the CCP special.

are you referring to emotionally unavailable or is there another one floating around i haven't heard?

god he's so amazing.
even his podcast is ****ing hilarious and its pretty incredible how consistently great his pod is considering its just him n no guest.

i literally re-watch his specials at least 3x a month.

He even makes reading mundane things hilarious, it's ridiculous. I was at one of the tapings for his last special, his response to the laydeee heckling him and the timing was so amazing it almost looked staged.

hahahahahhahaha i know right that was so amazing.

"WE'RE TALKING ABOUT BEATING WOMEN HERE LADY"

he has so many amazing bits and this isn't even necessarily his best, but for some reason the one he does about buying a sandwich and them wanting him to put the mayo on himself and his delivery of "do you recognize me? NO? ITS CUZ I DON'T ****ING WORK HERE" just kills me so hard everytime.
