I like it. At times, it felt like "What if Steven Wright was the kind of guy who keeps kidnapped sex slaves in his basement".

It does seem like Jeselnik takes a bit too much time to wink at the audience and reassure them that he is playing a character, so that they don't hate themselves for laughing at his jokes.

I enjoyed the new Aziz special

Definitely the funniest hes put out imo

Thoughtful too, nice to see him address the sexual misconduct stuff

I was hoping he’d go more in direction of Patton’s last special in regards to the personal stuff, but thinking about that more, not sure he could do that very well. Special was good though.

That said, Louis CK addressing his in a special could be some GOAT level ****!!

Trying to think of a joke.

It's in one of the more famous/well known comedy specials. Male comedian (think it's Mulaney or Louis or Aziz or someone on that fame level)

In the middle of his set, he just says something like "Now this is not related to any of the material that I've done up to this point... And it's not related to anything coming later... But..." And I can't remember what his one-liner is but I remember I thought it was really funny

New Chappelle on the 26th and now a new Burr special on 9/10!!!

Aside from a new Stanhope or Louis CK special, this is probably the best thing to happen in stand up for awhile!!

Chappelle has balls and that special was awesome viewing

I had never seen any Ray Romano stand up before but his Right Here, Around the Corner on Netflix had me crying

New burr special is up on Netflix. I was pretty excited because he's one of my favorites but I just didn't feel this new one. He's usually an ******* who says pretty funny stuff but this one time he was mostly an *******.
If I has to guess it was because the crowd was terrible. They mostly didn't laugh and I think he felt the need to keep going and being even more offensive as it progressed.
It reminded me of that time he trash talked the crowd during the entire show.

Just watched it and felt the opposite on both counts. Was one of my favourite specials of his and I didn't get the impression the crowd weren't enjoying it - except the one tool who heckled him, but that led to probably the best joke of the evening.

anyone who didn't enjoy either the latest Chappelle or Burr specials has ZERO credibility when talking about comedy. They should all go rewatch Nannette and leave comedy to actual comics.

Really enjoyed the latest Chapelle one. Still don't think the Burr one was that good and I think I figured out why: I enjoy him a lot more when he's telling stories than when he's talking about current events or politics. I really enjoyed all his stories about Nia, for example.
