Schulz has a decent podcast with some big guests, if you're into that kind of thing.
I occasionally listen to it and it's pretty funny a lot of the time, he can just get a bit 'shouty' at times for my liking.

Burr’s latest is….. not too great…. Had he cut all of the Covid and Cancel Culture bits in the beginning, taken his bits in the Friends That Kill (and not bothering to release it at all) and used those instead, it would’ve been pretty good. I still enjoyed most of it, but it’s probably his worst overall.

And that Chappelle quote…. Take the first half out, and the rest may very well be true for a standup. First half of it was kind of stupid lol

Nate Bargatze is hysterical. I think I didn't love the one he released during COVID, but everything before and after is excellent.

There was an extremely favorable profile of Janeane Garafalo in the NYTimes a few days ago, like she was some underrated giant of comedy, and I just kept thinking to myself "But she just wasn't that funny."

And yeah, of course she didn't sell out, although I'm not so sure it wasn't from a lack of trying.

She's not funny, but she's important. Like Gustav Lebron.

Does anybody like to watch the Netflix previews for the many terrible comics on there? Just something about the way comedy promos are cut cracks me up, especially when it's terrible.

That one generic dude who did the MMA comedy is funny for that. And it always seems like they have like a Captain Planet crew assortment of comedians to lean heavily into racial stereotypes w/ little creativity.

Like how Dat Phan or w/e would always be like, "Man, growing up Asian was rough. My mom would be like, "DAT! WHY YOU NO DOCTA? WHY YOU NO GET A PLUS!" as a punchline.

I don't know, for some reason it's always amused me. One night on mushrooms I saw the preview for Felipe Esparza on there and went to play it for the same relief. With his accent, I expected some more garbage since I didn't know of him, but he was hysterical.

Seriously? That was a promo for Brian Regan, possibly the most successful clean comic in years.

He sucks, but he's not a wannabe.

I've never been able to get into Regan. He's a comic's comic supposedly. I listen to a few stand-ups podcasts, and he seems to be universally liked/highly regarded in the comedy world. I've only seen bits, not full specials of his. Honestly give me Burr, Chapelle, Normand, Attell, Shaffer, etc over him. I know comedy doesn't have to be dirty to be successful, but these guys are all better for my tastes. Hell, Gaffigan, who has gone downhill a bit, and is a fairly clean comic, is miles better than the jokes I saw in that Regan clip.

Phresh - Esparza is pretty good but sometimes he depends too much on drugging and his sex life, where it can kinda drag his specials down.

Regan has some great bits. In fact, most of his stuff 2010 and earlier is worth a listen. And I say that as a worshiper of Stanhope.

I regret buying Andrew Schulzs Infamous. Really hackneyed material and crowd work. I had only seen funny clips from him before and this special was really boring and unoriginal.
