Department of Transportation proposes ban on emotional support animals on planes. The days of Noah's Ark in the air are hopefully coming to an end.

The new rules are designed to crack down on passengers traveling with unconventional pets like peacocks, possums or snakes. They are designed to "[reduce] the likelihood that passengers wishing to travel with their pets on aircraft will be able to falsely claim their pets are service animals," the DOT said in a statement.

DOT officials said they eliminated miniature horses as service animals because they are less flexible than dogs and space could be an issue, adding that cats are typically emotional support animals. Officials also said that they considered including other animals such as monkeys, but ruled them out because of their disruptive behavior.

ESAs are still good for housing but have nowhere near the demand as air travel. And airline ESAs were great marketing tools. Those days are over.

I heard there are lawsuits being filed. It is not 100% confirmed. Not looking great.

Watched a gammy and gampy with a puppy wearing an official ESA thingy get rejected from entering a youth football game today.

She called the police. Saw them walking up the bleachers with the dog 10 minutes later smh.

No idea why a well-behaved dog wouldn't be allowed at a free outdoor children's sporting event, regardless of status.

Anyone else fine with dogs being on a plane but thinks babies and very young children should be banned? If I notice there is a dog on the plane for any other reason that he looks cute, he's causing a problem and should be banned from flying. But the same thing goes for children. If they are yapping constantly, crying, stinking, etc, they should not be flying.
