Don't know if this qualifies as a scam, but I used to work at Leslie's Pool Supplies, a large chain of swimming pool supplies. We sold "kits" which included a bunch of chemical products (5 bags of shock, water clarifier, algea control, etc) that we also sold seperately. The kits were sometimes up to 40% cheaper than buying them loose.

I kept a small notepad next to the register and whenever someone bought a loose piece of a kit (back then a ton of people paid with cash there and never asked for receipts) I'd give them the change and keep a tally. Whenever I had enough products to ring up a kit I'd ring it through and pocket the difference in price between the loose pieces and the kit. This had the added benefit of helping my "average per transaction" too since instead of ten $15 sales I'd have one $75 sale.

The most common one was bags of shock for $3.69. Most people would come in a buy 2 or 3 bags. We also sold cases of 24 for $54.99 IIRC. In a typical weekend day in the summer I'd probably end up ringing up 2 cases worth and pocketing the difference, just in shock.

HRA/HSA conversion to cash. These are accounts with money in them provided by either city or employers that can only be spent on medical expenses.

So buy an HIV test, blood pressure monitor, and some ovulation tests at Walgreens, send in receipt to HRA, return items to Walgreens. Balance converted to straight cash homie.

I use a car park near my office, so I drive in and get my ticket, park, go to the automated machine and pay straight away which is £1 for an hour. I then leave my car there all day and use the ticket when I go home in the evening saving myself £4 by not paying the £5 day charge.

Where I live is a parking garage for all the tenants in my community. They cost about $30 per month if you have lived there more than 10 years which I have, and $70 if not. They give you a card to swipe when you go in and out to open the gate.

Anyway, i have not had my car for 10 years, so to get a pass it would cost $70 a month. Rather than buy one, I try to park on the few spots on the street, but when i cant which happens quite often, I enter in and take a slip to pay when I exit. And then when I exit i use my sisters card to leave. That way I don’t have to pay and collectively me and my sister only pay $30 a month for garage services.

This garage actually charges people $5 per hour and $35 per day to park if you are not a paid member of the garage. What a joke.

i know a guy that asked for a lock poker transfer for 28k. When he was busted and revealed to be a scammer, he made a 2 minute video apologizing. He went from scammer to people hoping he binks a WSOP bracelet, all without paying a cent back.

OP,

One great scam is to have your girlfriend wear a fake pregnancy belly and then go to a dressing room and stick a ton of clothes in there. If you don't have a girlfriend you can also do an almost as good scam as this by wearing a giant parka and hiding a ton of stuff in that.

Had a buddy in college who did this and when chipotle was busy (usually means more workers on the line who have to play telephone until the cashier hears "double chicken") he was 95%+ and when they weren't busy he was still 60-70% getting free double meat.

If you do it too often variance is bound to rear its ugly head.

Last trip i took to miami i rented a car and parked it in a parking garage near my hotel. Didnt need car as much as expected and left it there for 2 days so when i went to finally cash out i told the attendant i lost my ticket and only had to pay the lost ticket price. Saved me about 100 bucks

Very True.

When Chipotle first came to my area I used to ask for "more" meat not extra, and they would put a bit more on and it not count as double. Now if I don't feel the double meat option working I ask for half and half meat as they still but more on then the usual.

This one is straight up theft but back when I was a cashier at a grocery store, they would hand us our till with a few random pre-paid phone cards of various durations (15/30/60/120 minute). This was in the late 90s so making long-distance calls was still a big deal and cost a lot. All the cash in our till was a set number and of course they knew how much they gave us and we checked it before opening up and then broke it down at the end of the day. However for some reason they never kept track of these phone cards, just put a few in our till and hoped someone would buy them. They were pretty expensive, I think some were over $20.

So I would just pocket them and they never found out. I didn't tell anyone but I'm guessing others figured it out as well. This went on for weeks (the stealing) though the policy went on for months. I just used them to call my out-of-state GF then when we broke up I stopped taking them b/c I never made long D calls.

I can't believe they were so sloppy with those things. Other than that I was a model cashier. lulz.

not a chance, the gate closes too fast. Its one of those like poles that go up and down and scans to start closing as soon as a car goes under it.
