They call me the "Traditional" when it comes to energy drinks.

I drink red bull, also rockstar original can, i truly enjoy rockstar. im not jumpin on any bandwagon umm i started drinking vodka redbulls in casinos in like 2010 lol. its great to stay awake and kinda alert. ****ing tasty too but, like anything, it has downsides. hard to fall asleep and restlessness.

i loved em but i slowed down a lot since 2014 cuz its like man my heart/chest hurts sometimes. im going to not drink these as much,
Spoiler:
but i still like em like once or twice a month.

Back in my day we used to take mini-thins for a cheap and crappy buzz. I'm just glad we can all bond across the generations through our shared quest for legal jittery highs in our nation's 3rd rate convenience stores.

When I waited tables in college we'd get high and take a bunch of ephedrine while working. I remember feeling like my heart was about to jump out of my chest. Even then I think I realized that it was probably not healthy behavior.

I remember my first taste of Red Bull and this is what went through my mind:

Here's what must've happened: When the product was finished they brought it to the CEO to try and he liked the taste and mentioned that it tasted great. The product developers were pleased until he said: 'You have to make it taste as terrible as possible otherwise no one will think it's working.'

JFC, that stuff is awful.

grunching...

1. red bull. especially chilled. I don't get how anyone thinks it takes gross. but I hate coffee so I guess it's something like that.
2. rockstar a distant 2nd.
3. everything else tastes like puke.

quitting both helped lose a lot of weight FWIW.

1. black coffee with MCT oil
2. CrossFit

If you are going to insist on these energy drinks then just shoot yourself and save some pain and suffering.

I started drinking Advocare Spark again. It has a ton of vitamins and minerals in it. Only 120mg of caffeine though.

Red Bull's only use in my world is Jagerbombs. Tried using Monster in college because it was cheaper, but didn't taste the same. Jagerbomb consumption has dropped to ~2/yr now that I have a family...

A guy a work saw me drinking Arnold Palmer all the time and gave me a Monster Rehab to try. First time I had it, I had to cut it 50/50 with an Arnold Palmer so I could drink it. Now I think I've completely replaced Arnold Palmer with Monster Rehab. Glad I don't drink as much Monster Rehab as I used to drink Arnold Palmer, else I'd probably be dead.

They're fine, they're just stupidly expensive. a 4 pack of Red Bull (33.6 ounces combined) is $10. Just lol.

I think the other ones are slightly less per ounce but nowhere near the real deal.

$7.99 for a 60 pack and at 200mg a pill you really aren't ****ing around with bull**** soda quantities. Two of these per day is 27 cents

If you feel you're missing out on vitamins and whatever other snake oil they add in their that either does nothing, or is so lowly dosed it wouldn't do anything unless you drank ten cases

add

$.77/day

Want electrolytes too?

These are around 75 cents each, cheaper than Gatorade and zero calories vs 50 or whatever low cal Gatorade has. $1.50+$.77+$.27 = $2.64

So for the price of one Red Bull you're getting 8x as much water, 10,000x vitamins, and 100x more electrolytes, and 5x as much caffeine. All with the option to consume more or less of any of it.

But none of those things have a marketing campaign to make you think you're a badass extreme sports dude while you sit in your cubicle tweaked out on a really crappy caffeine buzz.

But but have you considered that you might be overpaying by 45 cents per day

Doing this is still ahead of the millions that line up daily at Starbucks for their caffeine fix.

Coffee has documented health benefits whereas I have my doubts about anything that I have a hard time pronouncing.
