The old Adam West Batman series was awesome. True story: we went skiing in Aspen in 71 or 72, before it was trendy and expensive. We ran into Adam West in a bar where we were eating. I asked him for his autograph and he came over and chatted with our family for about ten minutes. Absolutely delightful man: funny, charming, self-deprecating. That clip is terrific.

As Batman, in the 1966 movie, at the end of the 'Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb' scene, he explains his human sympathy for people in bars and his reason for clearing the waterfront bar when he discovered the bomb: 'They may be drinkers, Robin, but they're also human beings. They may be... salvaged.'
As for the actorly aplomb required to deliver such lines... well, it's like when he picked up the phone and said, 'Wayne Mansion... Yes, this is millionaire Bruce Wayne speaking...'
Well, quite. One of her best bits from Bullitt, where she's giving McQueen a lift in her ubercool old Porsche (she lets him drive, but it's her car) because he's gone and stupidly written off his Mustang in the famous chase:
Though it's not quite as good as the bit where she tries to get McQueen, of all people, to look up the hydraulic pressure tables for the ever-so-artistic fountain sculpture she's working on.

That show is awesome. “What more is a dream but a blueprint for courageous action!”
