Hey has anyone thought to do a Miss OOT 1970s, 80s, or 90s?

When I was a kid I thought Dawn Wells was such a doll. She played the role of Mary Ann Summers on Gilligan's Island. I also liked Tina Louise (Ginger), but I really preferred Mary Ann.

Julie Christie in Young Cassidy.

No, I didn't see the film, obviously -- I was about seven -- but the Observer Magazine put her face on the cover with the headline, 'Julie Christie in the Irish Troubles.' And, as Sir David Lean later said when asked by the BBC's Barry Norman to explain the success of Dr Zhivago despite critical raspberries, 'Story. You want to know what happens next. Great characters. And Julie. Because that was quite a face.'

In the early Eighties my friend Richard bought the screen rights to Ruth Prawer Jhabvala's Booker-Prize-winning novel Heat and Dust, set in India in the 1920s British Raj and in the present day. He set up quite a big-budget production. He cast Julie as the present-day heroine, looking into her memsahib great-aunt's affair with a maharajah in the Twenties, and Bollywood legend Shashi Kapoor as the maharajah. Then a major backer pulled out and the budget fell to bits, his option expired and Ruth took the book to her old mates Merchant-Ivory, and they made the film on a much smaller budget. They kept Julie and Shashi. But what made the galloping hordes go see this arthouse film, the most profitable of all Merchant-Ivory productions, was the new face they cast as the wayward memsahib: Greta Scacchi.

Either Neve or Denise are legit. I sat near Denise in a restaurant in LA and could hardly eat. I pretty much stared at her and drooled for a couple of hours.

If you watched that movie and noticed Kevin's bacon you were doing it wrong.

Eta:

It certainly wasn't "early" but Isla Fisher belongs here.

Denise Richards is indeed super hot. Also, she did nudity from the start.

Neve Campbell was quite attractive (still is, judging by House of Cards), but she wasn’t even the hottest one on Party of Five.

JLH came on the scene just after high school for me, so I wouldn’t call her a childhood crush, but I was very into her.

When I was like 8 I had a crush on some girl in Little House on the Prairie. First I can remember. I recall she's deaf in that role so I might be mixing things up, as googling doesn't come up for that.

In my teenage years I always kept a folder of Ethan Hawke pics. As I'm straight it's interesting to think about it now. Just some kind of role model I guess.

Also Julie Delpy has always been ****ing hot. Must be still on my you-know-what bucket list at 48 y.o.
