It's also worth the few extra dollars just to have a place to go if it's doing something weird/leaking/whatever and get advice/fix. They would still do it if you didn't buy there, but it feels better as a customer.

I went to the vapor shop today and picked up a Tarot Nano , 12mg bright liquid.

i opted for this one as it felt about right in my hand ,has a bit of weight to it but def feels good in the hand, and feels solid.
Was more expensive than online , i paid 80euro for it, but it comes with a spare glass tank and atomizers and charge lead.
Anyways like said above the vapor shop man seemed very knowledgeable and was talking for 10 mins or so explaining how to operate it and showed me how to prime it and and fill it etc
It wil probably take a while to get used to what settings to have it on i guess. But so far happy with it.

Day one no cigs....

That looks cool. Good luck quitting, I switched to vaping about three years ago.

Tarot Nano is my favorite mod. It's the perfect mod to take outside because it's so small. I use it with a Hadaly clone RDA and it's the best vape for me.

What strength juice did he set you up with? You might want to be on the high side for the first few weeks of withdrawal.

That's a cool looking device.

Probably the coolest looking thing I've seen since the Joker mod.

i'm on Liqua - bright tobacco 12mg

i think it was 6/12/18mg so i chose the middle as he said that's what he would go with as i smoke silk cut cigs

The liquid here now can only be sold in 10ml bottles maximum i think he said and tanks 2ml .
The tank suits me as it makes it stubbier/shorter . He had a really cool looking one tho with like metal wrapped around his tank like a weave.

The atomizers are 3euro to replace and 10ml juice is 6euro is that about right?

i have no idea what any of the modes do on the mod itself. Wattage ,200f 75w,bypass,system set etc

will have to watch some videos

I have a Smok mod like this one and it just stopped working. I hook it up to the charger, it will show charging and then fully charged but won't turn on.
Anyone have a similar issue?

Stuff like this is why most of us use 18650 mods. Seems like mods with built in batteries have much shorter, or at least less predictable, lifespans.

True that, plus any vape shop that has a variety of devices will actively steer you away from smok mods. The Alien looks pretty cool, but from my understanding, you may as well gat Pioneer4You (which are just awful as well). At least those have external batteries.

The lifecycle of a built-in is fairly predictable. A battery has charge cycles. If you recharge once a day, you can probably get a year out of an 18650 before it's unsafe, but if you charge many times a day, you are pushing it at 6 months.

So, although your mod is showing full charge, I suspect that the battery (or batteries) inside no longer has enough power to fire up the coil. This also happens with external batteries, but in normal cases, a mod should outlast the external batteries, so you are looking at spending $20 on a set of 4 batteries instead of replacing the full mod.

If it matters, many of those mods have 18650s or similar chemical makeup inside.

It's better to put down the money for 4 batteries and a charger. It's an extra $50 or so, but long term, it's much cheaper. I've been using my Nitecore for 5 years now. If it didn't get busted up during a move, it would be working like new, but now I have to replace it. It's a $15 to $20 to replace, so no real loss.

Thanks, I'll research different brands with external batteries.

I just use basic internal battery mods and replace the whole shebang when they go bad. They're not that expensive, and nothing with an 18650 fits comfortably in my pocket anyway.

What devices have you been using and how long have they been lasting?

Mostly 40W eVic Basics for the past couple years. I always have 2 in rotation and I think I'm on my 5th and 6th. Just checked my order history and it looks like I get ~8 months out of them. I also have a couple iSticks which I mostly use when driving around and as backups. So I'm spending ~$100 per year on batteries.

eta: I'm just using the eVic batteries. My tanks are Aspires.

Zik, you might want to look into an eleaf pico. It's only very slightly larger than yours, seems to be more powerful, uses a single 18560, and is borderline indestructable. I'd look at the pico 25 (takes 25mm tanks) for more tank options.

I've recently switched to the eleaf invoke. It's a dual 18650 mod that's only slightly larger than the pico, but it has WAY more power. Doesn't seem to be as indestructible though. I expect the battery door to fail early. Hopefully I'm wrong, I've only had it a few months so it's too early to judge.

Both the pico and the invoke are MUCH smaller than any other 18650 mod I've used, and I find them very pocketable.

I'll definitely look into them next time my batteries start getting flaky, but I just got two more eVics a couple weeks ago so I should be good through Fall.

I'm still riding strong on my Pico 25. I had the original Pico for nearly 2 years before that. Each one was about $50 even though this one came with a tank. I think I have a pic a few pages back.

I'm similar. Pico for about 2 years, pico 25 for about a year. Even after 2 years the pico was totally serviceable, I just wanted to be able to use 25mm tanks.

My only reason for switching to the invoke was that I was constantly changing batteries. I vape at ~60w, and when my battery dropped to 75% or so, the pico would start to reduce the wattage. By the time my batt was at 50% it was only putting out 35w or so. I'd have to swap batts 4-5 times a day.

Using the invoke I can put 2 batteries in in the morning, and it will run all day at 60w without stepping down, even when the batteries are nearly discharged.

If you vape at 40w or less, there's no better device than the pico/pico 25. Especially considering how cheap they are.

Yeah, that's my only real complaint about the pico. I run through batteries like crazy, but on the other hand, it just gives you the battery with no interruptions, so it's the closest I've had that feels like a mech.

The other complaint with both picos is that sometimes it doesn't fire unless the screw is just right.

The only reason I got the 25 was because finding a good 22mm tank is nigh impossible these days.

I vape at 35w, btw.

What's the best vaping setup for somehow who isn't a heavy vaper????

PartyGirlUK;

Any prebuilt option with a refillable tank is viable. Juice doesn't go stale very fast. I have a Pico 25 with whatever tank it comes with. It can take a few different SMOK coils, which have different resistances and different airflow. There is this 6 coil that is just awful and feels like I'm sucking rocks through a straw. Something like that is probably better for people who aren't too heavy.

I also see a lot of people in LA using the ego-style setups still. I think that's kind of quaint but it's also really cool. I wish I could have stayed at that level at times.

***

I've been having battery read problems. I normally use the LG browns, which I started using after Samsung changed the formula in the 25r. Basically, I ran into issue either getting the batteries to read at all, or, the battery reads as "low" once I'm at 75% on a new battery or 50% on an old battery.

I went to the shop, thinking it could be the device. I bought one Samsung 30A ($15, boo) and I have to say this thing rocks. Instead of using 4 batteries in a day, I can use this one for half day, which seems to show I could get away with two batteries.

In any case, I'm wondering if anyone else is having a load of issues or what the going battery is these days.

I've had a Maganus Cloud Blaster tank for some time and love it, but suddenly the replacement coils have been discontinued. Can't find them anywhere.

This is a top-loading, sub-ohm tank that never leaks -- airflow is on the top. Any thoughts on a replacement?

It's a rebuildable, rather than stock coils - but I've recently got an OBS Engine which is a 5ml top airflow subohm tank and I love it.

Another is the Geekvape Zeus, also rebuildable but only a single coil deck. No idea what it's like but I remember seeing it when looking for a leakproof tank, I ended up getting the above. (Edit: I see they now have a Zeus Dual, which might be nice.)

Googling the Maganus Cloud Blaster, it looks like it should have come with an RTA deck, so maybe just grab some wire and cotton and build that?

I bought an itaste MVP batt couple with the Nautilus Aspire tank 3 weeks ago today and I love it. I have had no issues with the tank others have complained about and am still on my 2nd coil. My preferred setting after a little tweaking is at 9.5w and the 2nd smallest air hole.

One more thing for all of the clueless media that say there is no proof that this can be used as a smoking cessation device. In my case you are woefully wrong. I smoked for 33 years and was smoking over 2 packs a day. Haven't had a stick in 4 days now and have absolutely no urge to pick one up anymore. My sense of smell and taste have already vastly improved and hacking up a half a lung every morning has already gone away.

Again, my heart and lungs thank you!
4 year anniversary this month of being off of the sticks. Luckily i haven't caught the bigger and newer is better bug. Still rocking the best tank ever made for people who want a no nonsense vape, the Nautilus Aspire, 1.6 ohm coil, 13w.

Still using whatever internal vvw battery happens to be cheapest when the last one craps out. Most last at least a year and some I have had to retire because they just would not last more than a few hours on a full charge. Right now that happens to be 2 Eleaf iStick TC40Ws.

Yeah, I'm trying not to get hurt patting myself on the back, but just wanted to let people know there is still some older, easy to use technology out there that can get you pointed in the right direction. And I think posting your goals ITT help a lot. I know it did for me. Thanks!
