I finally decided to buy a new device, called the iStick Pico 25. I've been using the iStick Pico for over 1 1/2 years now, and it's getting a little bit unstable. Part of the problem is also that it seems to be getting hard to find a 22mm rebuildable tank these days. This one takes up to 25mm tanks.

Since it wasn't a huge transition, I'm totally comfortable and liking this one so far.

It came with this tank on top of it. I have no idea what it is, but it's a prefab coil. It's probably the best prefab tank I've used to date. Very cloudy and full-flavored. Heck, it's better than the Prius tank, IMO.

It's a touch bigger than the Pico.

I buy bright-colored tanks because I'm blind as a bat w/o contacts in. I don't own anything that's red, pink, or whatever.

looks a lot like a Smok baby beast tank

The tank is called the ELLO tank. So, as usual with these things, the coil burned out within 2 days, so I guess that situation never improved. I suppose I vape strange because everyone else claims the newer coils last 2 to 3 weeks.

It does take the SMOK baby beast coils as well. I'm not a fan of SMOK anything, but I'll give those coils a shot and see how it goes.

Kind of a bummer SMOK called their tank a "beast" since there was the Silo Beast for a short time. The few that knew of that one would tell you it was the greatest subohm tank ever built. The coils were amazing and actually lasted as long as advertised. In contrast, SMOK is overpriced / overhyped trash.

I've been using the Smok Big Baby Beast for about 6 months and it's the best tank I've used. Coils last me about 1 month each

That's good to hear. Hopefully I'll be duly impressed.

I wonder why I never get the time everyone claims for any tank. I know how to set it up right. I do vape on higher VG juice, and I'm currently running at 33W, which is about what I always vape at.

But still, the coils haven't quite caught up to a nice dual-clapton build.

How much juice do you guys go thru on average per week? Im knocking off a 60ml bottle like every 5 or 6 days and my girl is giving me ****. 5ml of that I probably lose to leaks.

about 30ml/day lol but that's only 0.5-1mg at most these days

I go through about 100mL per week, but I also work at home. Each generation of tanks requires more juice, which is why we went from 3mL tanks were huge to 3mL tanks are called mini today.

Been using the pico 25 for a few months now and it seems as good as the pico so far. Using it with a 25mm eleaf Melo RT 25 tank, and eleaf ERL RBA.

I make two massive oval shaped vertical coils in the RBA and it works awesome. Infinite airflow and tons of coil surface area. Got too hot using clapton wire, so had to dial back to (21 guage?) kanthal 0.6 ohm total.

Best setup I've had to date. Also going through ~100ml/week of homebrew 6mg.

Any advice on where to start? Been buying the prefilled jobs at gas stations, but they are expensive and ****ty. All the jargon is pretty intimidating

Best thing would be to go to a well reviewed brick and mortar vape shop near you. A decent one will walk you through everything you need to know.

If you have a vape shop near you I'd recommend just going there and asking for what starter kit they recommend. Most of the starter kits on the market are very solid nowadays so you'll very likely get something you're happy with. If not, people iit could probably recommend some or try to YouTube "ecig best starter kit 2017" or something. You should be able to get a good kit, extra coils (which need to be replaced every 2-4 weeks), a couple batteries and a charger, and some juice for around $150

Most vape shops have a good selection of starter kits, and in general, you aren't dealing with sales people that started vaping just to get the job (though places like this still exist).

The kit I have above is pretty good for the price, but I feel like it probably runs a little too hot for a beginner. I think the standard these days is a 5mL tank w/ 75W box mod, 2 LG brown batteries, a Nitecore charger, and a bottle of 60mL juice. It should run about $100. In general, the gear you find in a vape shop is legit.

I know that some people would suggest getting a kit online, but I think it's worth getting that bit of hands-on treatment from a shop: if you have a problem, you can just go back in and ask for help. The prices aren't as different as they used to be.

What city are you in?

I prefer using my Eleaf ijust2 over my box mod. It was the starter kit my local vape shop sold me a couple years ago and it's my go to. Hits great and can be had for cheap as its a bit dated now. Just make sure you get a second battery.

Anyone know of any cbd flavors that deliver a harsh hit like tabbaccoo? I wanna switch from smoking and need something strong maybe less fruity. .

Any vape shop should have a tobacco base flavor.

We all started at "lol, fruit" and eventually assimilated. It's definitely worth testing a few flavors. I'm more into pastry flavors myself.

FWIW, the hit from modern devices can be plenty more than you can handle as a smoker. It used to be smokers wouldn't switch because it wasn't strong enough. Now smokers tell me they won't switch because vaping is way too powerful.

Are there any good pastry flavors that aren't super thick? They're my favorite too but they burn my coils up really fast.

I still run unflavoured pure VG (with at most 1mg nic), even that is a massive hit compared for noob smokers from the goat Boreas tank with dual coils @ 0.35 Ohm.

Got lazy and was just using cotton normally. Replaced it with "Scottish roll" and never again going to plain cotton again. It's so much better it's unbelievable.

Switched from scottish roll to cut as large as will fit in the coil and don't touch it after and won't be going back after getting really stoned and watching some foreign dude do tests for like fifty hours straight.

Whats a good Ecig/vape to get

on about 15 cigs currently, have previously had the cigarette looking ecigs.

The thread is huge and browse is sometimes. But can be confusing for a novice.
So many things o think about and seems like a lot of different parts to em too.

The ones with adjustable strength is what im looking for, the square block type one.

A link to a decent one thats easy /fast to fill or only needs refilling once a day would be great.

It's tough to recommend in such a fast-moving area, I would suggest the stuff I've been using and very happy with - but it's 9 months old now (and still going strong!) so other newer things may be better but I have no experience.

Smok Alien Kit - This is the "square block" (mod), but it comes with a small tank (RTA) that I haven't tried but is supposedly quite acceptable. It is a small tank but very easy to fill.
https://www.elementvape.com/smok-ali...kit?enter=true

I just picked random first result on Google, idk where in the world you are.

I use a Boreas RTA tank, which is great but requires manual fiddly building so prob not suitable for beginner (and besides, it's no longer available).

I believe Smok makes some very good bigger tanks, TFV8 etc. There is massive variety here. I also have a Griffin 22 (great!), Kayfun 5 (much tighter draw, I like airy these days - and it doesn't feed juice enough with the variety I use being quite viscous), a Velocity 2 mini (a dripper - no tank for juice needs "dripped" very regularly). I have a load of other tanks/ attys in the graveyard too

You can get batteries from this place also, I use the Samsung 25R at the moment. The Sony VTC are also very good. It takes a pair, and that pair should be "married" - that is, always use and charge together, so they degrade at the same rate. Mark them immediately with a permanent marker pen and keep them paired. I'm somewhat reluctant to suggest a dual battery mod to a beginner for this reason, it's something to be wary of. I would suggest buying at least 4 batteries so you can charge a pair while using the other pair. I have 6, marked A,A - B,B - C,C. Just bought another 6, since they original set isn't lasting so long now. But not using them yet.

I would recommend the XTAR VC4 charger. https://www.amazon.com/Xtar-VC4-Char.../dp/B00U26ONVE

You'll also need some liquid, vast varieties available and it's up to you what you'll like and what strength is appropriate. A local store is an excellent option here.

In fact, a local shop is very much worth a visit if possible, but it'd be good to be well informed beforehand so they don't sell you junk.

I'm looking forward to buying a Pulse BF 75 when it comes out, and probably a Dead Rabbit BF RDA to go with it.

Wall of text sorry, and really just tip of the iceberg Someone else will have completely different recs probably.

Yeah, definitely start at a good vape shop.

The prices of a new device with tank and coils is about $50 these days. It's about the same as you'd pay online. You can buy 100mL bottles of juice for $25. Batteries are $10 each and a charger is $15. It's crazy how cheap and far B&M have came along. I don't even bother buying online anymore. Well, I do have to buy an RTA, which will come from online, but I'm okay with what I'm currently using.

If you are in Los Angeles, good luck.

Thanks for the feedback

will try get into the shop in town this week. I was thinking online would be much cheaper but if theyre all about same price now i will just get the kit from a shop plus if its a little extra in € it will be worth it for the consultation they give.

Will report back once i get sorted.
