I bought a new mod. It may be shocking to know that I've never bought a dual-battery mod before. I was a little nervous because I didn't want to buy something that's huge. Of course, I considered the balance against no longer carrying a battery case.
It's called a Tesla Punk 220W.
A size comparison to the Pico 25 and a battery case:
****
It looks really cool. At least, I think so.
Pretty comfortable in the hand, but if my hands were smaller, I'd have some serious problems with it. It looks like it would be sharp in the hand, but it's quite soft and ergonomic.
When I pulled the box out of the mail, I was shocked at how heavy the box was. I was hoping there was some other stuff in it, but nope, just the mod and a little USB cable. It weighs 280g / 9.87 oz. It doesn't feel that heavy in my pockets, so I guess it's okay.
It's a minor complaint, but I don't get the LED lights. There are 5 options, but I turn them off.
It may be a setting issue, but there is a noticeable ramp-up time. There are 4 settings: normal, soft, hard, and user. The user mode allows you to fine-tune the power balance, but I have no idea what all of that means. The instruction book is 2 pages of unhelpful information. With that said, the menu is super easy and intuitive to navigate and use.
It cost me $63 shipped to my door, so it feels like a good deal overall. It looks and feels expensive. It also stays warm to the touch, which I'm kind of appreciating now. The Pico 25 feels icy cold.
Would I suggest it? I don't know. I'm not super into using larger devices, so I have to get used to this. The Pico 25 is about the largest mod I've used in many years.
