I live in North Jersey and bought a cheap Chinese model E-bike last year.

It saves me money on tolls, gas, subway, and bus fare.
I ride about 15 miles to NYC for work, recharge the battery, and then ride home.
It takes about an hour each way, which ironically, is faster than driving or taking public transportation during rush hour.

The connection to poker is that I raised a bit of a nice bankroll with all the money I have saved, and the bike has long since paid for itself as well.

Are there any E-bikers here?
I want to get a more expensive and powerful bike.
The bike I own requires a bit too much effort before arriving to the office.
Technically, bikes with a throttle are illegal in NYC but pedal assist is allowed.
But I don’t care. All the delivery guys seem to have a throttle, so I’d like one too. I will obey street laws and won’t be obnoxious about it.

Any E-bike recommendations?
It has to fold, minimum 20 mile range, rugged enough for winter, and decent power.
All suggestions welcome.

Personally I have never ridden E-Bikes but a few families I know have E-Cargo bikes by xtra-cycle which seem very well made and are capable of carrying a small family or enough groceries to last most people a full week maybe both they are very sturdy.

I'd imagine without the assist they would be bear to peddle with all that weight but the functionality seems awesome. One of the people I know who has one is a very experienced cyclist and he loves his.

Ah but these don't fold, I've met a guy who's done quite a bit of bike touring on a bike friday cycle which folds and has 20inch wheels said it was a great bike and they do offer E-bikes.
