Which?

No Hollywood film has been shot in all IMAX.

EDIT: Wrong, I guess this was? Not really sure. I was going on slightly out of date info I think.

The smaller formats will still look exceptional because reducing the size of an image also has the effect of making it appear clearer and more resolved. But yes, anything not seen in iMax will definitely be cropped.

Unlike hateful eight, this showing appears to be even more exclusive. If yyou're in a market that has a theater showing it in film or large format iMax and you don't go see it, ef U.
It will be in 70mm near me but I'm unclear on whether there's a true IMAX 70mm as well (I think it's probably "just" an IMAX Digital), and those aspect ratio comparisons give me pause.

Eff Nolan though, overrated as hell. I'll see it in 70mm if it's convenient and/or if I hear the right things from the right people about it.

EDIT: It's in proper 70mm IMAX near me, but I'm getting furious just imagining the plebes texting and Snapchatting during it.

Just seems extremely bizarre that it's being shown in 1.4 in IMAX vs 2.2 in regular theaters. Simply cannot be substantially the same movie.

Also filming in IMAX seems like an incredibly bizarre choice for a movie with a bunch of action scenes while taking pride in using practical effects. Like doesn't that camera weigh a ton?

And what's this idiotic "IMAX Laser Digital" nonsense?

Too confusing with so many different formats and many of the "IMAX" theaters probably not doing it correctly.

They should not have released that comparison screenshot guide.

I mean they shouldn't have released the film in many different aspect ratios, releasing the guide seems secondary.

LOL you have to learn about the science of film projection to go see this movie? I'll wait till it's $5 and I don't have to deal with smartphones in the middle of the movie by juvenile adults.

Wikipedia as accurate as ever by stating in one sentence that Cillian Murphy is in this, and in the next that Nolan insisted all the cast be British.

That's just a polite way of saying 'No Americans, because they'd kill it stone dead.'

70mm or imax?

If you actually have acces, Watch both to be honest... they are different. I would be willing to bet that the 70mm version will be slightly soft, even though it is all analog.

For us in Vegas, its laser iMax projection.... which I am okay with. As long as the master was down on film, projecting it digitally in extreme resolution will yield awesome results.

Purchased tickets for Saturday for my standard screen size local theatre. But they got recliner seats that are comfy as hell so that makes up for it. Can't ****ing wait

I just read that Rex Reed hates every Christopher Nolan film. That's just weird.

New Yorkers hate Christopher Nolan

He trashes Dunkirk.

‘Dunkirk’ Is Christopher Nolan’s Best but Still Largely Unintelligible

Makes sense to me; cause I've always hated Rex Reed's take on movies. Pretty much confirms for me that the film must be great.
