In Germany it is actually pretty often that people wear outside shoes also inside. It is so little dirt outside that it is totally possible.

In Russia it is an absolute no-go. I remember we had even to bring to school diiferent shoes than outside and change when we entered.

I take mine off right as I get in the door. Don't wanna get dirt or whatever all over my house. Anybody who does wear shoes in their house is a filthy savage.

Pretty much only when I'm either getting ready to leave or just getting back home; I'm not anal about taking them off at the door or anything though.

Used to wear shoes around the house more often but having a live-in girlfriend who lived in Japan for a few years cured me of that.

Is slipping in the shower a thing? Don't think I ever lost my balance inside a shower, you're probably dropping a soap too much.

FYI for you. There is seriously 0 actual dirt underneath/on my shoes, what kinda places you guys live in? I only take them off if it has been raining hard outside. I also don't wear them upstairs a lot but Im not anal about taking them off either if I have to get something quick. FWIW my house has tiles.

What kind of filthy disgusting shoes are you guys wearing that makes you think you need to take them off before stepping inside the house? Do you also have plastic walkways in every room?

Sometimes taking off shoes when inside in order to be more comfortable - totally normal.
Always taking off shoes when inside because constantly worried about dirt and grime - wtf is wrong with you?

edit - also this poll is terrible. how is there no option for sometimes?

My understanding is that Southerners keep their shoes on because it would be a pain to put them on every time they have to go into the backyard to go to the bathroom.
