yeah I def dont take "big" dabs by any stretch unless I'm goofin off making a vid or seshing with friends.

But as you'll read in those articles, when you wait for the banger/nail to cool down, the oil basically just bubbles and continues to emit smoke as long as the temp stays hot enough (the best quartz bangers are ones that hold heat the best).

So you use a carb cap to keep the oil temp up and you get like one huge hit, then 2-3 more nice ones. If you resist the urge to cough haha, you taste the terpenes a lot (diff based on strain and extract method). If you've only dabbed off a red hot nail, then you've never even tasted terps bc they got
scorched off immediately

edit: first few times I dabbed (~4yrs ago), it was off a red hot nail and I got uncomfortably high and it turned me off dabbing for like 3yrs (vaped oil mostly during that time). IME, low-temp is way less intense and overwhelming at first/in general but the high lasts longer, is more consistent. Makes sense bc youre getting to ingest all those psychoactive elements you were burning off too quick at higher temps before and the smoke is way cooler/smoother

Not super high af but feeling good!

So what happened earlier when I got home with my SPACE GOD wax (wow, right now I'm a space god!) Is first the old lady takes hers, and when it's my turn, the ****ing thing has finally completely clogged! Off that one goddamn hit! I just couldn't believe that after how hard I was fiending all day and I finally gave in and made an hour trip to the buy the **** and im not going to get to use it!


Well anyhow I put the nail under water and lift it up, and Jesus Christ you wouldn't believe what's going on in the stem. I employ the use of drinking straws to scoop it out, and it's just thick carmel. (Oh man, starting at the center of my skull, the entire 12 inch radius is a big sphere of tingling pressure) What is exactly is all that stuff? And does it have value? Doesn't matter for me now because it has been disposed of. Anyhow that still didn't do the trick, and I thought I was ****ed because the stem bends at the bottom and that area down there was completely blocked. Old lady bends up a wire hanger and really goes to work, and blowing in the top of the bong and that dislodges it up into the stem! Christ what a filthy operation.

All that is to say, the thing is how hitting hot and heavy. Like really hot! Such better hits, maybe that's why I've been feeling like it's not doing it for me the last week.

Is this a pen or something you're hitting? I noticed when I use the globe and coil to turn a battery into a "wax pen" that I have to use pretty small amounts of concentrate otherwise it seeps down past the coil and clogs up the air vents.

Nah, it's a very simple dabbing rig. Pretty much just an upright bong with a stem in the vertical, parallel stem.

My last dispensary trip I had a thing for 10% off and I bought four edibles (they package them as singles) and the guy working there said he had to ring each of them up separately to do the discount because of some OLCC rule. Not a big deal, but then the guy started going off on dispensary rules and told me that all the weed they have on display in the cases around the store they have to destroy. No discount sales, specials for employees, anything like that. He said they have to destroy it and actually film themselves doing it. Man was he worked up.

my old regular stop was raided a few weeks ago according to weedmaps. their entire menu of flower changed overnight too. the new place i go to doesn't have any concentrates on display -- on my first visit i inquired and was told she could break me off some crumble, followed by a wink! i've since wondered how to purchase without making a faux pas.

I went to another dispensary yesterday because they had capsules and I wanted to try those. This place wasn't regulated by the OLCC, but the OHA. Anyway, with those regulations they could only sell ONE edible to a person, so I could only buy a single capsule for $3.50. The regulations are inconsistent here, obviously. Next trip will be to the other place where you can buy way more, I think one guy said you can get "a pound of edibles" if you wanted, not sure on that.
