Living off the grid means making edibles is a pain in the ass.
Yesterday I bought a crappy slowcooker from the drug store in town and decided to try and make an oil. I've never had much success making edibles. I've thrown some ground up bud into brownies and been high af for hours, and I'd tried to really do it seriously and just wound up wasting herb
But I'd never used a slowcooker before (actually, ever for anything), so I was excited to try it. Got home and realized I didn't take into account decarboxylating, because we'd been talking about AVB and my vaporizer hasn't been working.
Damnit. ... I don't have an oven, is the thing. So anyway, I fired up the generator and put about 1/4 cup of vegetable oil in a mason jar, and put that in the crockpot with some water. I wanted to see if it got hot enough to decarboxylate in the oil.
After about an hour it was a bit north of 200 degrees, so I decided to say screw it and give it a shot. I tossed in a small about of AVB, some stems and then a couple of grinders worth of weed.
The generator kicked out sometime around 4 a.m., so I'd guess the oil was working for about 12 hours, maybe a bit more.
This morning I was at the grocery store and they had some awful pre-made mac and beef that for some reason (stoned) I can never resist. Brought it home and just ate some with a tablespoon of the oil.
It was the worst mac and beef ever, and might actually help convince me that I need to stop eating it. Not that it isn't delicious.
Anyway, finished eating. Let's see what happens.
