Not really. The butane is used as a solvent to remove the THC from the actual plant matter, then you have to carefully remove ALL of the butane from the THC. It's a process, and I would not recommend fooling around with it. It is fairly dangerous and if done improperly, you are left with an inferior product that is not good for you if it still contains trace amounts of butane. Leave it to the pros, definitely not your neighborhood dumbass weed man.
Once the process is complete, you have hash oil, which can turn out several different ways, from dry and crumbly to sticky and stringy.
Butane, co2, or grain alcohol are the three preferred substances used for extraction, with butane being the most common, co2 being the best (and the most expensive), and grain alcohol probably being the most conducive to trying to make it at home.
