Yeah there was probably value in the most powerful psychoactive experience a person can have being slightly more difficult than pulling a pen out of your pocket whenever and wherever you please. It was nice. Gorgeous evening in Phoenix. I was a little put-off by my mask (not my favorite, and apparently one that doesn't fit), which did impact negatively, also the Sun Devil loss wasn't ideal.

I've always done it this way. The idea of chomping on a couple of grams of freeze-dried shrooms turns my stomach. But softening 'em up and just letting them sit, eventually they dissolve/get eaten. Seems gentler on my stomach, I guess.

Imo, for all the little inconveniances to be worth the trip, you have to set up camp somewhere so beautiful you'd never want to leave. And that usually requires hiking a 40lb pack miles through the woods.

Those drive up campsites with no view and within earshot of other campers? Pass. Truly isolated out in the wilderness with just a couple good friends and some ice-cold beers buried in the riverbank is a great time though.

Kind of a random derail, but anyone familiar with Sykes Hot Springs in Big Sur? The Pine Ridge Trail out there closed down after the fire four years ago but construction to rebuild it has started. Unfortunately, the springs washed away and they won't be allowing them to be repaired Probably good for the area because way too many people went there and too few of them cared about packing out their trash, but that was in my top 2 favorite wilderness spots. Sad knowing that it's gone and will likely never be the same again.
