There have actually been multiple studies showing that in rats, CBD much improves the healing of fractures. There's a Snopes page on it here. However, THC may have the opposite effect via activation of CB1 receptors in addition to the CB2 receptors which CBD works on. An epidemiological study of heavy pot users found lower bone density and higher fracture rates.

tldr: Your surgeon is probably correct that it's safest to avoid THC, but CBD might well be helpful. Won't get you high though.

cool post Chris. that may explain the cranial sensations i’ve felt the past few years from smoking - basically the opposite of headaches. i experienced bad side effects from a medicine yrs ago that left me somewhat brain damaged and headache prone. kind of an interesting trip in hindsight...the sensations indicate there’s more left to heal...

nah. a drug had a side effect as “depression”, studies show it as brain damage. was horrible.

Well, at home and the gears turn and turn. Doing research on effects of tripping with a broken bone. Doesnt seem to be any medical issues with it, and anecdotal evidence seems to suggest that it hasnt been a problem for previous researchers.


Only medication im on is a blood thinner to prevent clotting, also can't find any suggestion that there might be adverse reaction there.

Well, no visuals or noticeable cognitive effect, but I do feel very good!

Staring at my popcorn ceiling now there are hints of distortion but nothing that I would notice without looking for it.

Definitely the best my body has felt in weeks though.

I never really felt any effects from weed when I was tripping, but I used to use it as a way to ground myself. If things got a little weird with the acid, the familiarity of the process of breaking up weed, rolling and smoking a joint was like a tether to reality.
