It seems like the best results come early, like my guess is if you take a 2 week break, the first 4 days will do more than the last 10. That's borne out by how the first few days of a break can be tough with sleep issues etc.
Then over time, you get closer and closer to a factory reset, it's kind of a philosophical question whether you ever actually get there. Cannabinoid receptors reset over time, but part of tolerance is simply your brain getting used to operating while stoned. Hard to say if that ever goes away completely. That idea, that having altered your reality it's impossible to escape the lingering effects, is a central theme of "The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch", by Philip K. Dick, which I highly recommend everyone here read
All the above is just guesswork from me, based on what has happened when I've taken different length breaks.
