Friday I took ~26 mg 4-aco-dmt and went for a seven mile hike ... This was about five days after trying 20mg, so what with tolerances and all, I'm not sure exactly what this dose was like from baseline.

Walked out the front door and by the time I got a mile, to to the pond, the effects were apparent. ... like the first experience, nature was intensely beautiful. But, also like the first time, there were two very distinct experiences going on. The outward hike: beautiful nature; and the intense inward dialogue.

Walking has always had an intense effect on my thinking and creativity. But I tend to get lost in my own thoughts. ... this multiplied the effect. The end result was that I did about five of the seven miles staring at the trail lost in thought.

I did stop by a small brook for a while. The sun was coming through the leaves and reflecting on the trickling water, so I could close my eyes and the light would flash thru and make some crazy visuals. But in general, I'm not a fan of the way my inner thoughts get amplified. .... my only comparison is acid, which created a very different inner monologue experience that felt much more positive.

But it was a good hike, and then I came home and spent too much $$ on a pocketknife on ebay because it was made in Walden, NY, and I got fixated on how beautiful it was.

So then Saturday, I had gone to the library and picked up Sherlock, Season 4, the BBC version. Last night I consumed 60 mcg of 1p-lsd ... my goal was just to be able to sit and be interested in the damn show. I've had some attention issues lately .... Again, with tolerance, I have no idea ... from baseline I'mm guess this would be like a ... I dunno. 15 mcg ...

This worked out perfectly. I watched the whole damn six hours of season 4, WHICH IS AMAZING because it sucked balls and I'd never have watched it otherwise. At the end I was cackling at how bad it was. But I was entertained, so mission accomplished.

Halting research for a couple of weeks now to get back to 0 tolerance, and then may try a prolonged experiment with microdosing.

tl;dr: I prefer acid, but suspect nothing can make Season 4 of Sherlock watchable for a sober, thinking person.

I saw a special at a DC dispensary, $90 for a 1000mg chocolate bar. I think that's a hell of a deal. I'll report back.

Friend of mine just visited and said the DC dispos are >>> Detroit's. I like that there's only 5 of them in the city and they all get from the same suppliers. Apparently the budtenders are all class and have testing panels available to look at for every strain, which not surprisingly are also higher quality.

Just bud, or are they selling edibles and concentrates?

I think I had the same experience as you. I researched 1P a few times before conducting several 4-aco-DMT experiments, and decided I quite prefer 1P.

Im planning to wait about a month before any more research. Every 5-10 days for the last 3 months is probably too often. Im wondering if thats why my 4-HO-MiPT has been ineffective. Look for liquid concentrates. You can get 1000mg that way for closer to $50, at least around here.

I went the route of two 100mg brownies and an 1/8th flower special. Total take $75. One half brownie in the hatch.

The 1st brownie has a very strong onset. Just intensified the effects with the first blunt of flower and some celebratory shots as I had $100 on Darren Till (UFC) at +140 winning the fight. Ms. Foatie is tapping out after half the brownie. I feel like this is going to be the start of something intense.

Coming from Canada end of June and wanting to try for the first time. Hate smoking, so the plan is to get some sort of edible and probably a disposable vape pen. It being flavored is a big plus for me. I'll be there a day earlier than everyone else so I figured it'd be a good time to experiment and see how it affects me before they get there.

Overall I'd prefer a more energetic experience, but could be persuaded to get something more relaxing as well. Looking through the thread augie recommended BaM and ROVE for cartridges - but that doesn't really help me if I don't know what strains or really anything I'm looking for.

Ultimately my goal is to find out whether weed will work with my lifestyle. A bunch of friends seem to love smoking and barely drink - it seems like a pretty sweet gig, but just want to find out for myself.

I'll have transportation and don't really care about the price.

Any recommendations of places and/or products would be awesome - I'd rather not be a complete knob when I go. Thanks for any help.

Grando, definitely get a vape cartridge and cheap pen. Even without knowing what you're looking for you should be able to make a solid selection at the store. A flavored sativa.

Fell off the wagon Saturday night after 5.5 months. Finally settled into my new job so I figured it was time to celebrate. One rip off the pen and I found myself zoning out watching old school hip hop vids from the early 90s for about 2 hours. Felt damn damn good and slept like a baby. Gonna try not to make it an everyday thing but we know how that goes.

Cool - additional noob follow-up questions: you buy the cartridge and the battery for it, correct? And, theoretically speaking, could you get 2 cartridges (one sativa one indica) and switch them out depending on what you're looking for? Are there particular strains I should be looking for, or is it not going to matter much?

Yeah, you can get a pen for cheap, much cheaper than the cartridges. And yes, they switch out easy. I dont think the strain matters too much, as long as you've got some thc you're good to go!

Indica and sativa are dubious categories in terms of effect. There are broad differences but plenty of crossover. My understanding is that cannabinoid ratio and terpene profile is what leads to differences in highs, so imo you're better off cutting out the middleman and just looking at those rather than talking indica/sativa. I'd just tell the shop guy what effects you're looking for and let him pick you stuff. Yes to being able to swap cartridges.

If you've never used before, use in a chilled out scenario first time. Don't vape up and then head to some super loud and intense nightclub, or play poker or something. I personally don't like weed for going out at night, or for occasions like parties when socializing is the main point. In Vegas, stuff I would like to do while stoned would include chilling up at Voodoo Lounge with a drink or two and just taking in the Strip, or going to a Cirque du Soleil show. Sensory experiences that aren't too overwhelming. Just lying on bed in dark room and listening to music is well worth trying as well. YMMV, a lot of people do enjoy more intense stuff on weed, but the point is it's not like alcohol where being drunk is being drunk, being high can vary quite a bit depending on what's going on.

Careful if you combine with alcohol as well, personally I really like the combination, but it makes some people feel sick.

Just read that you said you're getting in a day before everyone else. That's perfect. I'd avoid edibles for starters, because you could end up uncomfortably high for a long time. Vape in or near your room and just chill in there armed with music/stuff to watch while you figure the effects out. The way it goes is onset 15 mins, peak maybe like 15-45 min which can be kind of intense, then gradually fading over the next few hours. If you feel confident to go out, I'd go up to Voodoo Lounge at sunset and chill with a cocktail and check out the view. If you don't like the effects at any point, don't get sucked into worrying about it, remind yourself that it's just a drug and will be gone shortly. Stay relaxed and you should have a blast though. Arm yourself with red-eye clearing eyedrops from a chemist, personally I dislike going out and feeling like everyone I encounter knows that I'm blitzed, clearing my eyes helps with that.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention food. Get some sweet and savoury snacks. Your tastes regress to childhood on weed, you might think you want the super adult green tea and basil icecream while straight, but you want triple choc brownie while ****ed up. A lesson I have relearnt many times. Fruit is great as well if you want to avoid being a total pig (which you don't)
