Service Weiner Dogs and other irritating airport yambags

There really needs to be some kind of update to this service dog bull****. I've been traveling this week and departing I saw this ****ing stupid weiner dog with a service pullover thing on and waddling down the ramp and i wanyed nothing more than to boot his owner in the ass.

Now i am returning and there are literally a dozen little ****ing dogs walking around with their dick bag owners. I get you love tour dog and I am the biggest fan of dogs around, but FFFFFFFF UUUUUUU I seriously want you and your dog to perish in some horrible way.

Close second is people abusing the early boarding wheelchair thing. **** you too.

Is this the new flying? Or will there eventually be so many turds doing this that they have to change up?

Yah I'm mad.

thast the thing, all you need to do is order one of those vests and no one will say anything, so what you really should be hoping for is MORE people to do this, until finally its such a problem that they make it so that only actual service dogs are allowed on planes or in stores and stuff.

Re: Service Weiner Dogs

emotional support animals are not service dogs. businesses do not have to allow them. except airplanes and landlords, who have specific laws stating they have to allow them.

just reading a website about them, you can take an online questionnaire by a legitimate mental health group and if you qualify you can then print off a letter stating your need for one. so yea. I doubt this will be exploited to the point it ends up getting ended, but it will probably get tightened up a bit if it continues to be so easy to get one.

Service dogs for emotional support is 1 of the more laughable things to start in the last few years.

Pot helped me relax when I would get stressed. If those ****s can bring their dogs for the same reason then why can't I hit a bowl on the plane?

Why would you want a dog to service your wiener? Just be glad you weren't next to a miniature horse service animal that was pooping.

Re: Service Weiner Dogs: An Irritating Airport Yambags thread

Unfortunately, some idiot decided that people with service animals don't have to present anything saying they are allowed to have one of these animals.

It makes no sense since I have to present ID, and handicap people have to present their placard to not get tickets for parking in handicap spots. Why did the people writing the ADA act decide that identification to prove a legitimate service dog is indeed legitimate is unlawful?

Now it's just being abused since no one actually has to prove their animal is legit, and it's illegal for businesses to ask.

Are emotional support, therapy, comfort, or companion animals considered service animals under the ADA?

A. No. These terms are used to describe animals that provide comfort just by being with a person. Because they have not been trained to perform a specific job or task, they do not qualify as service animals under the ADA. However, some State or local governments have laws that allow people to take emotional support animals into public places. You may check with your State and local government agencies to find out about these laws.
Blame your state and local governments and the airlines

Re: Service Weiner Dogs: An Irritating Airport Yambags thread

I saw them all over last week. I had someone with a little ankle biter dog talking with some other people while boarding and I overheard they were from the same city as me. The guy was either a doctor or male nurse working at a hospital in our town and looked like he played rugby in high school and/or college. He had a service dog. Thing yipped the whole flight.

you can ask whether it is a service animal or not, and what specific service the animal provides. i don't think there's any big issue with people trying to bring animals places they don't belong and lying about whether they are in fact a service animal, but i guess there'd be nothing anyone could do to stop someone from doing that.

Nope.

This is actually illegal for some municipal employees to do in some major US cities.

As an example, iirc, a transportation worker in say a bus or subway can only ask "is that your pet?" and that's it. Not allowed to ask about any disability or 'service' animal.

All one has to do is answer "no" as it's illegal for the worker to pry further and must allow the animal on board.

Re: Service Weiner Dogs: An Irritating Airport Yambags thread

Not 5 minutes after posting this thread at the airport, we go to sit down in a very crowded boarding area and amazingly find 4 seats, but one lady of course has her purse next to her on the fourth seat.

"Excuse me miss, is this seat taken?"

"Yes ummm...my colleague will be right back"

The "ummm" was very telling and I immediately put it at 50/50 at best that there was no ****ing colleague:

20+ minutes later, of course no colleague in sight.

We get up to queue up at Southwest boarding(which is great imo) and after 30+ minutes here is this see-you-next-tuesday mother****er:

Then I literally turn around in disgust and a smoke show queued up right in front of us:

"Hey Dad, look..."
Offfff ****ing course:

Not as egregious as a Service Weiner, but once it grows up it will certainly be a Service Shih Tzu so f this chick too.

Humans are animals. Can your girlfriend fly for free if she sits on your lap and comforts you during the flight? Are there any restrictions on the type of animal?

awwwwh that dog looks cute in that bag.

I've had people do that with cats also on my flights. one meowed loudly the entire flight which was annoying.

and the more I think about it, just vote for trump. I'm sure he will take care of all this.

Guess I was wrong about saying you can't ask.

You can ask, but only fairly vague questions and anyone can lie. And people do lie, as you can see by a quick Google search. Don't need to prove it's a legitimate animal.

Allowing any breed is also a terrible idea. A 5 lb dog should not be a service animal and really isn't a proper dog to be one. I bet a lot of people who need service animals legitimately would be totally fine with restricting breeds and making ID necessary. They probably hate fakers more than anyone.

Do they run these pooches through the airport security x-ray? All it would take is some jihadi trying to light his mutt.

Someone brought a "service dog" to the poker room the other night. It would yell out a yap or a bark at random. It had the little vest on so I though it was legit. Until I saw the guy stand up and walk away with no discernible handicaps.
