Its a big building with lots of kids and I assume there parents could accompany them. I mean, kids used to trick or treat through our college dorms, so I don't think its a big problem.

Yeah we have a couple main drags around me where most of the houses do it and all the kids go. The people down on The Strand (beachfront) really go crazy and I guess just give out full size candy bars. So needless to say that's where the kids wind up. I think I average about .5 trick or treaters a year at my house.

Man when I was a kid we lived in a blue collar but basically safe neighborhood (except for all the sex offenders we didn't know about). We used to cover at least a hundred houses easily. Also we'd hit the apartment complex, which maybe 1 in 5 had candy, but you could cover so much ground so fast it was worth it. I don't recall a parent every accompanying, and we got all kinds of sketchy looking candy with no wrappers and stuff. Usually we just pitched that anyway because it was gross old people candy.

Especially if you left the sign up until March.

Nah, that looks like more of a kids birthday party run by gangbangers.

It is sad when you think none of those kids have a chance, yet they're only like 6-10.

haha I feel stupid. I stayed home to give candy to 10 kids total. It was only 3 groups 4+4+2. Next year I'm leaving candy out.

Had some trick or treaters but less than I expected. I bought way too much candy. They would say thank you and I would have to tell them to wait while I shoveled more candy into their bags to try to get rid of it.

I got one group of like 20 which was kind of overwhelming

Just ran out of candy at 9:30, had ~250 kids. I'm in one of those neighborhoods that goes all out obviously.

Best costume was a 8 or 9 year old kid dressed up as Tim Lincecum. Dead ringer, and given that Lincecum looks like he is that age himself, pretty funny.

Are you sure it wasn't Lincecum?

Anyway, as normal, no trick or treaters at my parents where im currently staying. Quiet village where there is zero crime, but not once did i hear a knock on the door.

This is the sign you hit the bigtime.

Not many trick-or-treaters have shown up in the past 3 or 4 years. I attribute this to spoiled children and overprotective parents. Back when I was young, it was tough to come by candy, but I'm assuming kids get tons of candy nowadays. There are a few parents at a friends school who let their kids go trick-or-treating, but only allow the kids to keep like 10 pieces of candy. Either way, trick-or-treating is dying. I also assumed that on a Saturday there would be a ton more kids than usual, but it was only a couple more than last year.

I'd like to hear from some parents if there kids go trick-or-treating and for how long. I used to go for about 4+ hours every time, and one year my friend's parents drove us out to the rich houses to get better treats (they'd give full candy bars instead of the bite-size stuff).

My mother had 400 + kids at her door. Same house where I grew up in a good size development. Always a popular spot.

Bought my house 12 years ago and had like 2 or 3 ever. Tonight I
had 1 group of 3 kids. Had no candy so i gave 2 of them a Diet Coke and the 3rd got a bottle of water.

I'm in a middle class suburb (also known as a full-size candy bar goldmine when I was a kid) and pretty much noone came to our door. We had no decorations but our lights were on. This is the second year in a row our area has been ignored by kids. It might be a sign.

thankfully i live in an exclusive neighborhood where children don't partake in such rubbish.

plus my driveway is about 100 feet long and is gated

We weren't able to be at home in time since we were both working. Left a bucket of candy out as well as a couple fun decorations. Bucket was empty when we got home. No idea if we had a ton of trick-or-treaters or if somebody just dumped the candy into their bag and stole it. We suspect the latter.

Last year my GF says she had 7 trick-or-treaters (I was away) but she got home late and thinks she might have missed a few of them.
