Do I still know anyone here? Do I still know anyone here?

Been gone for years and a name from the dark recesses of my mind reminded me I used to have (or probably not have) a life here.

Sup, bros?

Hah. A couple of days ago, one of your songs came up on random shuffle and took me a bit to place it. Led me to digging out your cd and giving it a spin. Still think there’s some good writing there. An enjoyable listen.

Hope all is well.

With that user name, undertitle, and location it has to merit a listen.

I do feel a little dirty when I listen to something on Spotify. But I probably do it daily.

Hi, my name is Sammy, I am from Denmark (Denmark is a country), I would like to be your new 2+2 friend. My former account is from 09-10, I'm not as young as my current may suggest. I like horses and beer, mostly beer. PM me

If you don't mind me asking- have you ever gotten royalty checks for your music and how would one go about obtaining your CD?

I lived in Nashville when Russ put that album out, and despite being the only person in the city with no industry juice, I loved it so much I pushed it on the one published music critic I knew personally and purchased some physical copies to spread around.

"I ask the waitress / how much is that drink / she said it's free / and I know / but I like to hear her say sweet things to me" really great whiskeytown.

Victor, lol, but I wonder how much me reading his aughts politics posts in the aughts would agree with me reading them now.

EDIT: I don't wonder enough to actually go and do that, of course

Awww....I've been thinking about doing another CD - you guys are making me feel good about doing it but it'd probably be a home affair - for me it was always about trying to be a songwriter and if I didn't have enough ones I felt good about there was no doing another one

On a side note - after I got married I moved around a bit - I'm now in Anchorage, AK hopefully for 10 yrs or so but that means I no longer have a music scene I knew like Minneapolis or fellow musicians. But I have been slowly checking out the gear in case I feel inspired.

Still slum a little on ignition poker but married into clergy so gotta keep that stuff low level in my life.

No royalty checks - easiest thing to get the CD is just buy it digital on Itunes if you want - CDBaby might still sell it online but they stopped selling physical CD's - Spotify is always good - LOL - I never mind these days - pretty much made all the money from it I will ever make selling it.

On a side note, if you guys like my stuff, here's some stuff you probably haven't heard before - things I find inspiring - except for Vigilantes, they're on Spotify, and even VOL has their Capricorn releases are on there which were pretty cool

NQ Arbuckle - Let's just stay here (album with Carolyn Mark) - NQ Arbuckle is a great Canadian Band I heard of when I was thrown on a podcast type show. I just really like this band and their latest two singles (No Hands Bicycle / Love Songs for the Long Game) really suck me in

Farmer Not So John - Receiver (Album)- this band didn't get past two albums but the frontman still does stuff - just some great Melodic Roots Rock - not quite Americana but not far - also on Spotify - I don't think there's a single bad track on this album

Vigilantes of Love - Audible Sigh (Album) - I know the frontman (Bill Mallonee) and used his Gretsch/Fender Tweed all over my album - (bought them before his band broke up) - but they're probably on this one a bit - the album/lineup/track listing jumped all over creation and 3 labels but what's here is a pretty definitive version - https://billmalloneemusic.bandcamp.c...deluxe-edition

Matthew Ryan - Guilty (Album)- Incredible debut album by one of my favorite songwriters - "Lights of the Commodore Barry" hits me in the soul - he goes in some directions with some albums - (Acoustic to near Techno to Rock and then acoustic versions of the Rock albums) - but his writing is beyond compare, IMHO

Well I guess that what don't kill you
Makes you stronger in the end
Now baby I'm so goddamn strong
I cannot die by the hands of men
And if I were a samurai
I would probably abstain
Give up my title, and my daimyo
I'd leave town, I'd change my face (fate?)

Bought your album on iTunes years ago, helped me through a tough time back in the day
