Wow really?? I thought they had zero chemistry.

I don't think she ends up with any romantic interest as a Jedi....ok maybe Chewie since they are kinda together for now. Plus Chewie is grieving so he needs some love.

Finally saw it today...liked it, didn't love it.
- Not too worked up about the lightsaber battle, the mere fact that Kylo Ren throws temper tantrums means he's nowhere close to being on Vader/Maul's level (he's not even a "Darth" for crying out loud.
- That said, he's also an idiot...this whole "force awakens" thing...HE woke it up. The force was still asleep and he kept prodding it in the shoulder or something.
- A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, the stormtrooper attacks Fin with a non-lethal weapon instead of shooting him with a blaster #blacklivesmatter
- Thumbs down to supermegagiantdeathstar. Wish they would have come up with a better, newer first movie end boss.
- Rey has to be Luke's daughter...any other scenario is going to be awkward going forward.
- Incredibly, BO is a bigger idiot here than in the golf forum

I found this movie completely terrible.

First of all, the pace of the editing was completely ridiculous. My brother told me that this is JJ Abrams style but holy ****, leave the camera in one place for once. Give me a break

Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher completely mailed it in and were so unconvincing with all of their lines

Giant monsters eat 20 dudes in rapid fire but somehow carry Finn back for a good minute to Rey can save her? Finn as a non-force user actually lands a hit on the guy that was force-immobilizing people left and right? Injured or not that is completely ridic, and then he gives him the back scrape instead of killing him outright, this movie actually might have been saved for me if Finn had died at the end. Or, if Rey had just smoked Ren right there to leave some doubt on what side of the force she ends up in.

Also the theatre I was in didn't dim the ****ing lights until the crawl was over, wat

Really enjoyed this movie, I feel like it has restored the star wars name after the sub par prequels. I think it was a great idea to start a new hero's journey with a woman and the villain choices were excellent.

If you didn't like this movie, I feel bad for you, I imagine you don't enjoy many movies and really wanted this movie to be something that wasn't star wars. I felt like this was a natural extension of the original trilogy and I'm looking forward to the next one.

way better than VI, solid movie

end fight scenes all very good, all fight scenes very good

a little slow at parts and the eyeglass woman was worthless

everything else was good

Thank you for repeating the official narrative supplied to mainstream newspapers in press releases.

Saw it, didnt hate it. Felt similar to the new star trek.

Random thoughts...

Finn is pure fanboy fantasy. He reminded me of the kind of nerdy guy you might see in a DnD or DBZ movie. His character doesnt seem believable, yet he is likeable and I did root for him.

Kylo Ren is Gary Oak. Agree with those that say they find him strange. Right now Rey is better than Kylo, with more potential. Both are going to train. It doesnt really feel like there is much to overcome in Kylo in terms of immediate threat or future danger.

Finally I feel a deep sense of pity to those making character judgements on people who didnt like this. We arent all basic and ignorance is not always bliss. Id guess those that are being harsh critics probably have a deeper enjoyment of life than those that blindly bought in to this and are angry at anyone that didnt.

Is Kylo Ren irredeemable? I feel like a reasonable storyline would be for him to develop an obsession with Rey, but falls in love with her and is almost literally seduced away from the dark side, while Finn ends up completely friend-zoned. (Assuming theories about a family relationship are false.) He takes off his helmet while interrogating her because he feels some sort of human connection to her and wants to experience that without his helmet in the way.

I'm trying to envision how I'm going to feel when they finally show Snoke on camera and he's small, then drops the hood and you realize he's the same species as Yoda.

Pretty obvious now that everyone would be better off if Luke had accepted his father's generous offer to join the family business as a partner.

A few thoughts..

Loved the film.. Really did feel like Starwars again.

Yes there are some big plot holes/questions , but a) they may well be filled or answered and b) the originals had looooots of them . One being Luke only ended up getting r2d2 because a red r2 happened to blow up the second after he bought it.

I was thinking, could it be considered irresponsible for Han/Lea (or for anyone force sensitive) to have a kid, knowing how it could possibly turn out?

Why do force users not just make their opponents eyeballs (or organs) explode..? Seems a pretty effective way to end a fight.. Would make for some pretty short battled I guess.

I think JJ made a few attempts throughout to show Kylo wasn't quite up to scratch, most of which have been mentioned already. I think the curveball for most that gives the impression of a high level of power is the stopping of the blaster shot mid air.. I'm wondering if it was either a 'wouldn't it look cool if..' kind of situation, or that maybe he is just stronger in different ways..

People who loved it- would you be ok with a robot carrying information / Death Star / disable the shields plot line in eps 8&9?

They might be cousins, but I am not convinced this is definitely true. Maybe they could tie things together by having her be the daughter of Kanan or Ezra Bridger.

There is no absolute answer to this, I'm sure they could write a plot involving a robot carrying information / Death Star / disable the shields plot line that I would like. But like you are implying I completely agree they should go in new directions and that I would likely be disappointed if they went down that route again. But I do not think it is likely. Also consider that there is a load of time between episode VI and VII and not between VII and VIII, both in our time as in SW galaxy time. And that they would likely be repeating mistakes made in VI. (Some people say they did that in VII as well, but I disagree with that. VII felt very fresh to me, while VI not so much.)

The real question will be will people be ok with a Ren obsessed wtih Rey/Luke training Rey/Rey disobeying Luke and getting her ass kicked plot line in Ep.8?

Dumb that two major characters have such similar sounding names. You're not supposed to have two characters that have names that start with the same letter, too confusing.

Didn't like it. Amazed that 4,6 and 7 all entail blowing up the deathstar. Was ok with Rey's powers--she was repressing them. Some other issues:
* Not clear on why the whole map is an issue. Wouldn't you just need the end point?
* People know the Millennium Falcon's name, but it goes unnoticed while docked in the used car lot?

Agree with this. The whole Ren/Rey thing is just confusing for no reason. it is surprising that there was no one there that was like "hey guys, lets not do that" (though given that there was no one there that said that for Jar Jar makes it less surprising).

Because his name is Kylo.

Did you guys get Luke and Vader confused in the originals by calling them Skywalker and Skywalker?

If the next film opens with Rey hanging upside down in an ice cave I won't be happy.

The similar plot was the most disappointing thing about the movie.
