The problem is that almost all of the information we have comes from Expanded Universe sources which are separate from the new movies. Whether any of those issues will be addressed in the new continuality, I have no clue.
I haven't seen the Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. I've just read various wookiepedia pages and it wasn't clear what came from where.
Anyway, let's just focus on the first question: Why did Yoda and Obi-Wan not try to get the surviving Jedi together and oppose the Emperor?
A. There were no surviving Jedi (that part was thrown out)
B. This just wasn't addressed in the canon. Nobody knows.
C. None of the above.
From you previous post it seems like A is clearly not the answer. So it must be B or C. If it's C, then what was the reason.
