that's one thing i find funny about the Boyega outrage - people are furious he's black... yet the same people despise everything about the prequels.

Attack of the Clones introduced the clone army - not the stormtroopers - as a million Jango Fetts and people want their that remain the case some, what?, 80 years later?

i understand people freaking about a Johnny Storm being black(also, who cares), he's been white since the 50s, but a random stormtrooper? a character that has never been seen without a helmet? who friggin cares?

man the prequels really sucked but the lightsaber battle between Darth Maul, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan is probably my favorite scene in any of the movies.

I've read this sentiment before and it really goes to highlight what an insane nostalgia homer I must be. that scene is cool but I'd have to rank it below at least 30 scenes from the OT. again, not criticizing the opinion, but what a contrast!

Wouldn't cloning remain the most efficient way to quickly raise a large army?

I kind of like the idea that the reason storm troopers all have such bad aim is because of some small glitch in the cloning process. Or maybe Jango actually wasn't a great shot and somehow concealed that when they were deciding who to use as the prototype.

Do we know this somehow? EU info?

Well they had different voices. Also, recently, in "Rebels" they showed some recruits.

The black stormtrooper rage is absurd for so many reasons.

Wait until they find out Darth Vader was voiced by a black guy. And then follow that up with George Lucas's wedding photos.

The only outrage about a black stormtrooper I've seen is on CNN's front article, and a ton of comments of people making fun of CNN for race bating using a few random nutjobs on twitter. Not to mention no one cared that Jengo Fett wasn't white, I think the actor was Semoan. And Lando is the best character in all of the movies. You can't blame them though, people love to click on articles they're fairly certain will give them fodder for moral outrage.

We all know the real outrage is over how ridonkulous that lightsaber hilt is.

I'm actually just totally lost here. Why is anybody upset about the stormtrooper being black?

Are stormtroopers supposed to be from an all white/asian/latino planet or something?

Oh just read they are all clones of a white guy therefore should all be white. Makes somewhat sense I guess... but come on

Maybe hes a fake storm trooper/undercover?

Helmet off and in distress in the desert alone, not a typical place for a typical storm trooper

Could be in disguise like Luke and Han for some mission, or a defector. After the clones died off who knows how they fill their ranks, conscription etc.

Don't know if stormtroopers or the Empire are still the bad guys 30+ years after the Emperor died. I'd think so, and I saw a Rebel Alliance logo on Oscar Isaac so that's still around.

If they use any part of the Thrawn trilogy the empire is still fighting to maintain control of what they have
