Same! The time frame that show will be set in is something that hasn't really been explored yet. I'm stoked!

Yeah, as much as I want and love the fan service, familiar characters and callbacks, I’m really looking forward to more stories w/the expanded universe. Endless cool stuff to explore that goes beyond the Jedi and the Skywalkers.

Not sure which part you're referring to, but I'll address both: I'm glad that Mando seemed to go in a different direction, I heard the spoilers but I personally stopped watching after S2E1 since I found it to be exactly like 75% of the episodes in S1. I'll probably finish it someday.

As for them announcing so many other projects, that's great! I hope some of them are good, I'll definitely give everything a chance. It's clear that every SW fan has different things they look for...Mandalorian totally didn't do it for me.

I rewatched the prequels on disney+ and was overall surprised by how good they were. Ep 1 was garbage, but ep 2 was much better than I remember, and ep 3 was very good. Ep 3 is far better than anything disney has released, including the abysmal Rogue 1

There are lots of great things in 3, especially the Jedi sleepwalking into their demise and only realising when it's too late.

I think it's probably a better movie than 6, but I probably rate 6 as higher due to the amazing Luke/Vader/Emperor scenes, and the visuals of the final battle hold up much better than the effects in the prequals.

Wasn't it Roger Ebert who said something about how it's not just what your movie is about, but how it's about it? I always felt like the prequels were about some pretty interesting stuff, but in a shitty way.

Exactly. The prequels have incredible world building and amazing plot machinations, but it's all hampered by poor directing and terribly written dialogue.

It's not as good as a Plinkett review, but it's got a lot going for it.

Yo, Star Wars is ****ing dope. Rewatched Solo and Rogue One this past weekend, so damn good.

I absolutely love TLJ now. TROS still has some head scratching annoyances, but it also has a lot of cool things that I dig. Production value on the newer stuff is simply insane.

Been getting into some of the books as well. Darth Plagueis is a fantastic read and I just finished up the Bane trilogy.

I just love Star Wars.

I started watching Clone Wars (the CG one) because of The Star Wars Puncast (search your podcast app) - 2 guys who hate the idea of watching it, 1 guy who's already seen and likes it. Started with the pilot movie which was much better than I expected it would be. Some episodes are good and some aren't, but supposedly it gets quite good later on. (I'm in S2.)

Man, Clone Wars is such a great series. BUT, the early seasons can really be a slog. So much so, that I find it hard to even recommend the show to people, because it’s hard to say, “It’s awesome, but you just gotta get through the first couple seasons.” That’s a lot to ask.

It really gets going in season 3 and just takes off. TCW is ultimately a must watch for any Star Wars fan.

Do you miss too much story development if you just skip the first 2 seasons?

Unfortunately, yes. You miss a lot of important character introductions and initial plot setups. I just glanced at the episode list and there’s definitely some “can’t miss” stuff in there.

I guess my best advice is to just watch the lamer episodes in the background, you get a feel for the formula pretty quickly. There’s simply a lot of growing pains abound, from the tone to the CG to the storyline. It’s Filoni putting in the groundwork, getting to where he is today.

See? It’s hard to sell. But, the payoff is truly worth it for a Star Wars lover.

Just start with the Clone Wars movie, which is the pilot and is good. After that I've found enough enjoyment out of the occasional cool character, good episode, good action scene, etc. and from listening to the Puncast make fun of it.

I also don't binge watch, never more than 1 episode per day. Try an episode with your Eggos every Saturday morning.

Clone Wars and Rebels are well worth the time. Especially will make the newer series (Mandalorian) make more sense

I don't think this is a spoiler since Obi-Wan starts with a recap from the prequels, but damn, having a full-on school shooting in the beginning seems awkward

School shootings existed when ROTS released. Did it feel awkward then?

There wasn't a school shooting in Ep 3, but had there been one on the heels of a real life school shooting, it would have also felt awkward.

Yes there was? It’s literally the same incident.

Regardless, I think you’re thinking too hard.
