Seems about par with past titles, a silly retro serial title is part of the package. I'd much rather have this than JJ trying too hard trying to be edgy (Terminator: Genisys comes to mind). The first movies in the past two trilogies were "A New Hope" and "The Phantom Menace" so it sounds about right.

The name will only be as good or bad as the movie is anyway, same as the rest of them. The Empire Strikes Back probably sounded pretty lame too but after the movie came out nobody cared. I'm vastly more concerned about whether the two new leads can act, whether the story makes any sense, whether the new designs are fresh and look good. I don't know where JJ Abrams is coming from as far as his ideas about Star Wars.

From what little I've heard about the movie the title seems a fair description, if that helps. Everyone will just wind up calling it Episode 7 like they usually did with the last three anyway.

It was probably mind blowing in the 70s. I agree it doesn't hold up well for the modern viewer and it has nothing to do with the special effects. The three main characters are really bland and poorly acted and are barely better than the characterization in ep 1-3. The action, special effects, and iconography are what made that original trilogy.

Im having a hard time enjoying the last half of episode 9, I mean, think about it, its going to prolly end up with a similar feel of the first episode, all is right in the galaxy and all.

very anticlimactic

I will admit C3P0 is great, and vader is a good bad guy but doesn't require much acting.

Han is a great character in theory but Ford is a terrible actor in ep 4 and is burdened by hackneyed dialogue. His best bit is during the rescue with "everything is fine here, how are you?" But everything else was mediocre at best.

Han and Leia are their strongest in empire and have some great dialogue but I think it mainly works because their relationship calls for them to be antagonistic towards each other and when they are expected to be lovey dovey in jedi their characters again kind of fall apart.

I think part of it has to do with the fact that I've seen the movies too many times but my last viewing of the trilogy a few months ago was pretty disappointing.

Saw a rumor that the trailer may be shown next week in some theatres, potentially on national TV.

For re-watching the series, would you recommend watching chronologically or in order of release? What about for someone who hasn't seen all of the movies before?

Read another interesting method, order 4-5-2-3-6. That actually seems like it could be a good one.

My preferred viewing order is 4-5-6. Cuts out about 7 painful hours.

Watched all of the Star Wars movies last week. The order we used was 4, 5, 6.

probably the last 30 minutes of 4, all of 5, and the beginning of 6

maybe the beginning of 6 with the end of 4

4-5-6 is the way to go, but 4-5-3-6 is reasonable

including 2 is pretty big life leak

2 is better than 3. 3 might be the worst of the bunch.

But 1, 2, and 3 are all god awful.
