Well, I might be both dumb and desperate, so don't leave me out, lol. I've looked at the options available to me and boxing was the best one. I already lift, but I'm in need of an aerobic component to my training. I've always enjoyed the ring, but I don't feel comfortable kicking anything ever again.
The heavy bag in my garage seems to give me a good workout and I would like to add in the enjoyment of going to a gym and being around other people, while keeping at least a little toughness going into advanced age. Add to that, the competitive edge of fighting against an opponent, correct eating and helping with mental toughness, it seems to be the best option for me.
Each person is different, so the options that are available are different for each person. I think I'm pretty well informed of my needs. (Or maybe it's like Super says, it's because I'm poor...)
And I'm not worried about being punched, maybe it will knock some sense into me.
