I like the alligators as those dumb, annoying people we all have in our life.

No question that Calvin and Hobbes is a top notch comic, but I'm a Cathy man myself.

I used to draw a lot as a kid and loved C&H because it was illustrated so beautifully. Not much else like it out there.

Every single time I've heard the word "academia" used, it was to get a laugh.

And it works every time.

Put me down as another C&H fan as well. BTW, am I the only one who read the title and was expecting this guy?

Spoiler:

Forgive me for my ignorance but is there any way to read some of these Calvin and Hobbes comics online?

Never got into C&H as a kid. Those annoying car decals might've played a role.

Once I was able to understand them, I always liked editorial/political cartoons more. I can see The Far Side not claiming the GOAT title, but what about Peanuts?

I don't get Peanuts.

Though entertaining, I don't think Peanuts is really funny. It also seems relatively simply drawn in contrast to C&H (and I suppose TFS).

Those who don't know history are bound to sound dumb when talking about old things.

Done a bit of googling and I see nothing about him living in Seattle. It seems like he lives in Ohio, but he does sound like a recluse. Where in Seattle was it? Are you sure your friend wasn't pulling your leg?
