bad comic

at some point stand up became telling stories with a lot of exaggeration or talking about sex/stereotypes very uncleverly. can we get some ****ing jokes please?

good stand up: anthony jeselnik, daniel tosh, mitch hedburg, stella

bad (popular) stand up: dane cook, robin williams, kathy griffin, lisa lampinelli, greg giraldo, basically any of the roast comedians, larry the cable guy but thats obv, more. basically 95% of stand up comedians are crap crap crap.

I hate to break it to you, but that's been a big part of comedy since, like, forever.

I started reading in magazines that people didn't like him and I was shocked. I think his stuff is funny and I have a good time watching it.

I did hear he stole some jokes from Louis CK which I think is ********.

Dane Cook: funny guy, weak stand-up comic, free-rolling on life

If he was less popular, he would be hated far less so I'm fairly convinced that his hate has something to do with things outside his act (except for the lifting of material, but nobody seems too upset with that ITT).

He used the concept of naming your kid something funny, which Louis CK also used. And a bunch of old comedians. Dane Cook has his moments, but he's also got a lot of crap out there, and his movies are pretty bad. He had a very interesting interview on Marc Maron's podcast a while back, it's worth listening to.

where are carrot top and larry the cable guy on the list

edit: larry is #6. if anyone needed confirmation that looking at the top earning comedians list is a terrible way to judge how funny a comedian is, jeff dunham is #1. #3 is some other ventriloquist ******* i've never heard of.

This 100%. He is not a good comic by any means, but somehow he has managed to become super rich and famous by being below average at what he does. I can be below average at a lot of things and no one is going to pay me millions of dollars.

I was dating this one girl who loved him and she made me endure an hour of his sh*t. Everytime she'd laugh, I'd chuckle along with her 'cause I wanted that tw@t.

Besides that, I've never legitimately laughed at a joke or movie or his.
