The only good thing he ever did was basically play himself, but as a greater ******* in the under appreciated movie Waiting. (it's also like the only think Justin Long has been tolerable in).

His standup, and just general persona is horrible.

didn't really like Waiting at all... but Justin Long was hilarious in Zack and Miri.
And tolerable in Drag me to Hell.

Dammit. That Lindgren thread made me rewatch a well regarded Dane Cook clip on youtube. I will never forget where I was when I was with a group of people who popped in a Dane Cook DVD at the recommendation of their 80 year old parents as some amazing comedian a few years ago.

I stared so blankly at the TV, similar to how I just stared at my computer screen while he was doing some bit on skipping a party. What I honestly don't get is how some people like him. This isn't a post just to sit there and spew venom at the guy. I don't give a **** that he is awful just like most people would be terrible at stand up. But it is fascinating to me that some people love this guy.

Usually when I dislike something other people love I feel like I can at least understand where they are coming from but on this, I just feel so blank. I don't like Jersey Shore but look, I get why others do, I am not clueless and I know how it could be appealing. Honestly, what the hell is it that I am missing with Dane Cook? Please, I just want to understand. How the **** is this guy's stand up even remotely funny?

Can you just explain to me what part was funny? I want to understand, I really do. I feel like I am on another planet when people are laughing at the same act that has me feeling totally blank.

To answer your question, I'd have to re watch it, and that's not happening. I honestly don't remember. I had never heard anything from him before and my old roommate said, "you have to watch this clip bro!" So I did. And laughed.
