Simple enough. I'm a guy. I'm taking a bath (not RIGHT now) with my 2 week old daughter. I am wearing swimming trunks. It feels a little weird not to, besides the fact that a completely accidental, very awkward situation could arise. How anal am I?

When my daughter was like 12 months I was vaguely weirded out by bathing naked with her because she was really into grabbing stuff, but I got over it.

Now, she's three, and busts into the bathroom while I'm peeing and laughs at my penis. I don't have the energy to give a ****.

i dont really know anything about being a parent as im not one...but don't a lot of parents give their kids separate baths, not bathe at the same time?

how does a three year old "bust into" a bathroom?

I told OP he was an idiot, and now he made something creepy (bathing) that wasn't creepy before. Just take the damn bath.

A much tougher question is if you are a father, when do you stop taking baths with your daughter? (I would think right around kindergarten.)

why not just bathe the kid then take your own shower? i'm pretty sure that's how it was done with me. actually i'm told my mom used to bathe me in the kitchen sink in a plastic basin! it def. seems weird for me to get in the tub with the kid, though if you are gonna do that, going in wearing swim trunks seems even weirder.

We have a baby bath tub and could bathe her in the sink if we wanted. It's fun to bathe with her and she seems to prefer it as well. So, I'm aware that she could be bathed separately, but I have already decided to sometimes bathe with her. The question is whether I should wear swimming trunks. I don't see the harm in wearing them. It's not like she cares one way or the other and I'm more comfortable with the trunks on.

If you choose to take a bath with your infant daughter, then there should be no problem with you being naked.

I think its more of a problem that the question of it actually enters your mind.
