Yes, conditioning is a lot. It really doesn't matter how much endurance you have running, or doing pilates or whatever "military style" workout you guys do, if you don't have any experience working a ring and rolling with someone, you'll get gassed. The problem is you're going to try to use brute strength to over power your opponent and your muscles will give out eventually. The 14 year old who does nothing but roll with guys bigger than him hours a day knows how to use this leverage to his advantage. Then, in a matter of seconds to minutes he'll have your back and put you in a rear naked choke. Royce Gracie was able to beat Dan Severn in UFC 4, and Severn only weighed 70-80 pounds more and only had 30 years of freestyle wrestling experience. But, since some of you guys can run a mile in 6 minutes and can throw a nice wild punch I'm sure you all have a great chance because hey! he's only 14!

Threads like this always amuse me. A lot of you guys get your epeen all twisted and can't accept the fact that there are young people out there that are better than you at something.

So would the OOT Triple Crown be:

Hitting a baseball out of Yankee Stadium;
Driving a golf ball 300 yards;
Besting a 14-yr-old MMA prodigy

all in one day?

Don't forget beating Mayweather, kicking a 55 yd field goal, and killing 300 twelve year olds.

I'd beat the crap out of him.

I was third in the state of California as a wrestler and played football in college. I'm definitely not in that type of shape now, but even rusty he's not going to take me down. I've also fooled around with some BJJ. His biggest problem would be that he doesn't have enough man strength at age 14. Technique is huge in this sport, but strength is a huge factor when you can equalize the technique.

His best chance would obviously be on the ground, but I'm pretty sure I could still hold my own there.

I could go three rounds, but I would be horribly beaten for all of them. I think I could keep from dying though.

Anyone that's not currently actively training in some form of MMA would get wrecked by this guy, and even most random gym dorks would be big underdogs, imo.

I'll sign that little ****er up for world of warcraft a couple months before the fight and then crush his fat wheezing ass.

it's 430am, and i checked out this kid just a little, and i'm 87% confident i hurt his feelings...

i'm 6'2", 215, and pretty solid (my g/f is a personal trainer)...never trained mma, been in 15ish fights in my life, however, i understand mma, and am actually looking forward to someone doing something that i know i can get away with putting him down with elbows and knees...

i just see no way this kid at 120 or whatever he is overpowers me. if my motivation is high, i would probably kill him in less than a minute.

again, i know i'm drunk right now, but 8 hours ago, in an enclosed area, this is ground and pound knockout 90% of the time...

but then, i also don't believe the general population of 2+2 has much of a chance against this kid, either..

Should I feel like a douche because I think this is a semi-lock?

im 6'2 260 (fat, obv) and like 210-215 in skinny scrawny shape (2-3 months of hard cardio). Love to kickbox/clench, my dream is to one day fight some Am mma fights and break someone's leg due to lowkicks//break someone's arm due to a kick. Suck at striking (imo... but others say im very quick for my size). Pretty comfortable from either stance, with orthodox being stronger and my right low/ left high kicks stronger.

Little actual jitz practice, but I know basic defense... and how to set up/do all the stnd subs. 2 uncles and dad were all HS wrestlers and ive learned a bit from them/ natural instincts(genetics?).

I think this is a lock 9/10 times, with his only advantage of catching me in a sub before I can brute strength out of it before I go to sleep.

Now if this kid was like 16-17, 7/10... because his skill level + more mature body prolly owns me more often, even though I'm like double his size.

So, from my thinly veiled brag poast... does you think I have a chance?

You guys are really putting too much emphasis on skill. 14 year olds are so weak it's not funny compared to a grown man. He is not goin to be strong enough to do any moves you to. I would crush 2 of him at once.
Arm bar- not a chance, his body is weaker than my arm.
Triangle- even less of a chance, I could get out every way possible and laugh when he threw it on.
Any choke- I could just move his hands from my throat.
Leg lock- my legs are stronger than his body. I can leg curl more force than he can make.
All his strikes are going to be too weak. I mean we are talking pre puberty or just started puberty here.

I am 25 and get amazed about how 20 year olds have no man strength, and that they just feel weak.

I would predict my victory by whatever you all yelled from the crowd. All WWF moves accepted.

I would prolly use a choke slam.

second post in a row, but i just wanted to say, no judo or wrestling is going to save this kid in a cage against me. i'd just be too strong. he would most definitely have technique, but i'd have so much of a strength/punching advantage, it wouldn't matter...

i honestly think he'd have a hard time getting inside, and the shots he'd take trying to get there would hurt him. he may get inside, and if he did, i would inevitably overwhelm him, and then feel really, really bad about it afterwards..

THIS IS A 14 YEAR WHO WEIGHTS 130 POUNDS.

average 2+2er: loss

average grown man: 50/50

grown man w/fighting experience: 80/20

grown man w/fighting experience and huge size advantage: 95/5

i just see such a big disadvantage at striking for the kid, and then if he does get inside, such a big disadvantage in strength, it'd take a freak submission...

final line: Kid (+450) Me (-600)

.
yep, and yep.

my only weakness might be feeling bad about how big i was compared to him. there's a solid percentage chance that i may not ever even get into trouble....30 seconds in, there's a large chance that it's over...

I think the lines are worse for the kid.
Any grown man with a manual labor job I think is 100/0 for the kid.
Maybe 90/10 for any other grown average man.
I still think he would beat the average 2+2er.

14 is middle school.

The real question here is how many of these 14 year olds could I crush in a row before getting too tired of choke slamming them.

The e-peens are strong in this thread. Not afraid yet, 14-year old? You will be.

Ok, this seems pretty simple. 2+2 has rich degens. Pool some cash, 10k, whatever the kid will fight for and setup a match with X as our champion. Betting and beating ensue. Good times for all. Oh and of course video tape the match.

I've grappled with a few tough decisions, demons, addictions, moral dilemmas, differential equations and hard to open beer cans.

nah im decent. I do it alot though.
I am not a expert or anything but I have been going about 6 months. But I take it 5 days a week. BJJ mostly, but I have done some MMA.

I mostly do it for fitness.

I am just around alot of kids(going to be a teacher) I know how weak 14 year olds are.

There is 0% chance I lose. I was talking about average person.

I had a similar conversation with my friends after watching a few 14yr old muay thai champs beat on each other in BKK. You wouldn't believe how hard these kids can strike. Anyway, my guess is that this kid would take your average size 2+2er with little to no fighting experience. The larger guys would just crush him as would most people with a decent amount of fighting experience.
