As a restaurant owner I prefer the QR code thing. It makes it so much easier to make changes to items or their prices without having to get a whole new menu printed up every time. Plus the customer is never waiting for a server to bring a menu over.

That's great, if you have a working scanner. I do not. And then it goes to a website anyway, so why didn't you just give me the URL? Finally get there, and I have to blow it up big enough to read, which means that I can only see one menu item at a time, and often have to scroll over to see its price. Huge PITA. Flashlight is much easier. Pic on phone has same annoyances, so no thanks.

Whereabouts in Thailand are you? My mates are still in Bangkok and Pattaya and from what I understand they're hoping to be doing 100k vaccinations a day by the end of June. At least in patts. Not sure the plan for bangers but assume it's just as aggressive. If it's only Sinovac available in the near future, would you take it?

Yea I'm aware it's "possible" (not definite) that we'll need additional vaccines in the future for variants. The "lol" is because it isn't worth worrying about given all evidence on "concerning" variants thus far, how slowly covid mutates, how likely it will be that the protection level would still be quite high even if not ~100%, and how keen big pharma is to roll out more shots.

Yeah I'd say I'm a center-left person, definitely take Covid seriously (was in the Pfizer trial so obviously support vaccination). Started wearing masks very early before they were required. But many of my more liberal friends irritate me with their overcaution even after being fully vaccinated. These people plan to wear masks forever it seems. Worse, they seem to want others to continue wearing them as well.

I don't think it's virtue signalling, it's more like a security blanket they seem unwilling/unable to give up. I know this sounds callous but their fear of dying, even when the risk is almost nil, seems kind of pathetic. I get it, no one wants to die... but it feels like a desperate attempt to eliminate all risk from their lives, and it's annoyingly unrealistic and kind of infantile.

This video begs the question: how much money would you have to be offered to NOT get the vaccine?

My friend in Hua Hin has an appt for the AZ in early July. I'm going to try to hold out for the Pfizer or Moderna.

It's fine, for a lot of people it's been like 2 weeks since full vaccination and mainstream news and politicians have been really bad about this.

(Still mad about being freezing cold outdoors at a bar and next day a restaurant with entire group fully vaccinated though!!)
