So I just hit my 2 weeks after 2nd dose of Pfizer, so I'm hitting up comedy clubs again after not having done stand up in a year.

Even though I'm vaccinated, I was taking stock of the sitch. I hit up three shows tonight, all in bars with maybe a few dozen people in each joint. Talking into a mic that 15-20 people would be talking into for 5 to 10 minutes either before or after me.

People in the bar, no masks, eating and drinking.

FWIW I'm in Cali where the cases have been plummeting and a lot of people are vaccinated.

I had been feeling confident before embarking again into society tonight, but after being in the situation, I'm feeling a bit lost with how to accurately gauge the actual chance I'm taking of getting Covid.

I'm curious to know what you guys think. Is it only a matter of time before I get it if I'm subjecting myself to this lifestyle a few days a week?
Or should I be feeling reasonably safe?

I’m currently in Vegas for some mtts. I really hope the people not wearing masks are vaccinated (like a % of 95+). I def can see more slight spread if a lot of people are going around unvaccinated.

It’s pretty crazy how rare masks are here now. I got the vaccine so I’m yolo mode but the people I see walking around, let’s just say I would typecast them as not vaccinated.

Heard over the weekend a statement that Canada's plan is to get everyone a first dose, and only then start the second doses.

This from someone who has a daughter in Canada, but he isn't actually there. Sounds crazy the way it's been presented to us in USA#n. I assume there's some misunderstanding or miscommunication going on.

Did I hear correctly that UK just now added 37 year olds to list of vaccine-eligible? If so wtf UK, if USA#9 can get down to teens a New England-sized(no burn intended) are should be able to do better than that. Hope I'm wrong, but def thought I heard that yesterday.

It's all dependent on which province she's from. My province (Saskatchewan) prioritized first shots to high-risk people and the elderly, and allowed first shots to people decreasing in age (ie. one week 60 and older could book first shot appointments, the next 56 and older, etc).

Right now anyone 18+ can book first shots, with people older than 65 and people that had their first shot before Feb 25 being eligible for second shots.

That's because we have 40% of the population passing on the vaccine, so we get down to other groups quicker.

Same effect in Slovakia relative to the UK, about two weeks after I got my first dose in Slovakia (age 43), a letter came to my parents' house in the UK telling me to book a time to get done there (this after not using any UK health services or hearing from them for 20 years). Since then a reminder has come so they're obviously really trying to get people to come in.

At the time Slovakia had given first doses to 17 percent of the population and the UK to 49 percent, but agewise Slovakia was going faster due to the huge numbers of people who didn't want it.

Hey, I didn’t say I expect it. I just said I would hope people wouldn’t take such risks. I see a ton of older + overweight people in Vegas just no masks. Like I would say 20-30% of people might be wearing masks. I may be wrong but it’s insanely different than in Jan and feb when I was here. Also you can tell Vegas is trying to get back to “gung ho” normal again quick.

I see all the pool parties are going on, big edm Djs coming back, parties where masks required and proof of 1st vaccine but something tells me they can’t enforce that realistically with no masks.
