This. As a relatively healthy 42 year old American, the most likely way that coronavirus will cause my death is the healthcare system is completely swamped, partially due to the reckless #justtheflu clowns, and partially due to our overwhelmingly inept government, and then I will have some emergency that needs immediate medical care, which simply isn't available.

I normally drive about 80 when traffic permits. As of Saturday morning, I cut that to 65. I also routinely text while driving at slow speeds and i quit that, too. I'm in god shape medically, so where should I try to cut risk further?

I also have heard precious little about what exactly a "mild" case of cov-19 is actually like. I invariably hallucinate with any fever over 100.5 or so, and even a mild case may suck very seriously -- although I too am confident I'd survive it. But 1 per cent or so of the people in my age group that get this thing die, and 15 per cent or so need hospital care. That's a damn big number of people.

Doctors are starting to use the doctors ethic law: first save the ones with more chances of survival, second save the youngest.
Screw the others.
We are way beyond containment.
In Italy, but in the rest of the world as well with 72 countries contaged.
Just be prepared to quarantine when it strikes your country as well, and good luck to all of us.
Read the numbers about Italy, on 9172 contaged people 463 are already dead, 724 healed, the others still fighting.
We ****ed up because we underestimated the virus, but we hope we can still serve as bad example and other countries can learn from our failure.

I don't cotton to any finance learnin, but why are stocks like Netflix and Disney tanking so bad if people are supposed to be staying home? What the hell are people supposed to do on lockdown? Talk to family members or roommates? **** that.

Up to 116 confirmed cases and 20 deaths in my county. 19/20 from lifecare in Kirkland. Nbd tho all just FUD and no need to apply herd immunity concepts to this (get immunized to protect those that can't ) by working early to social distance to protect them.

100% agree that asking people to do it isn't likely going to be enough. It may change the curve slightly but we still have employees meeting up for happy hour even though we are all working from home.

A pity more door handles aren't made from brass like they nearly all used to be (I assume it would be a similar time to copper).

Update on my friend the dogsitter.

Apparently, his coworker was supposed to come back a week ago, but then ended needing an extra week to get back in the US. After 3 weeks of pushing back the date, he finally was able to give the dog back to her.
