I signed up for the Moderna booster tomorrow at my local CVS. 2nd dose of Pfizer received just over 6 months ago. Looking forward to the expanded 5G coverage and putting an extra nickel in Fauci's wallet.

Moderna for all 3. Got the booster exactly 8 months after shot 2. Slept pretty late today. Not feeling terrible yet, but definitely more tired than normal. Probably going to lay in bed all day and read/nap.

I went on long walks right after the second shot and booster. Never felt a thing. Maybe that helps who knows.

I’m afraid to get a booster. Got a month or two to decide. I don’t want to go through this again.

The freedom part hasn’t exactly worked out either.

I'm about 22 hours post-Moderna boost + flu vac. Feeling fine, so far. Felt a couple of small bouts of chills/sniffles last night, but pretty much cleared up, and barely even worth mentioning.

I never felt terrible, almost 2 days in from booster now. Yesterday was pretty lethargic and had a slight headache. Feeling fine today, although still a little tired. That could be from the huge plate of biscuits, gravy and sausage that was had.

Edit for context: I DID feel terrible after my second shot. Fever, achy, and just generally felt bad.

I think the current booster procedure is age 50+ (or clinically extremely vulnerable) and strictly 6 months+ after 2nd dose (which is kinda rough for getting a lot of them in before winder since we also had a 12 week gap between initial doses)

Got in a pretty big argument this weekend with some friends over another friend, who is unvaxxed and has no antibodies, and his FREEDOMS coming before my wife's responsibility as a medical professional to not be around known unvaxxed people. It ended quite poorly.

He is free to do what he wants, your wife is free to not be around him. Simple.

What I meant (and what I thought was obvious) is that your friend that wants to exercise his FREEDOM is also free to face the consequences, including: not being around his smarter friends, not being allowed to go to public places, losing his job because he's a moran, and getting covid and ending up dead.


I'm pretty sure we're on the exact same page on this issue.

Unfortunately what is actually happening is the people we hang out with(or the guy anyway) are picking the unvaccinated dingus over my wife, which means that we will no longer be able to hang out with them. Friend is also a dingus too, so I guess I need to just stop hanging out with white trash people.

As a side, they both run their own businesses so no real repercussions will happen, but here's one for you: The unvaxxed guy runs a restaurant linen cleaning company and goes into about a dozen restaurants a day to pick up and drop off stuff. I find that borderline criminal, as these places surely do not know he is an anti-vaxx dipshit. Pisses me off.

Once you accept the fact that sometimes you just have to cut certain people loose, it becomes much easier. Practice, practice, practice. I've never had an issue with it, but my wife still does--particularly since she has relatives who need to be culled. She is making progress though.

As to the latter, it would probably be terrifying if we knew just how often this type of stuff is happening around us. You are simply in a position to know one which makes it infuriating personally.

That unfortunately is happening every day in every business. With 40% of people unvaccinated, I just assume anyone I don't know is unvaccinated by default.

I've spoken to my brother, who lives 2 miles away from me, once since Christmas because he is a pro-gun anti-vax online forum idiot. My parents have multiple times wanted to get together with him for birthdays and holidays and I said no, until my 3 year old or he is vaccinated, the answer is no. Thanksgiving is coming up...haven't discussed it yet. My Mom will probably cry.

it seems easy, and sometimes I let it get the better of me in discussions, especially online. But I also have to bear in mind that one day all of this will be over and life is short enough as it is.

Case in point, we have one friend who is pretty against the idea of being vaxxed, largely stemming from the influence of her boyfriend who is a conspiracy/anti govt guy. But both of them recently got the shots because they want to be able to go to Mexico in a few weeks and they're needed for travel.

For which from my point of view was fine, because I'm of the 'I'll take what I can get' viewpoint. But, another friend of ours told me he was pretty much done with both of them because as he put it, "she'll get the shot to go to Mexico, but not to save lives? F*ck that!" Which seems harsh, but also valid, particularly in view of the fact that he lost his mother earlier this year, and covid was at a least a contributing factor to her death.
